Sweet Valentine?

On Valentine's Day, Ji-chan wanted something special. He means something delicious food and drink. I got wine for "drink".  And this chocolate cake for "food". He liked them so much.
バレンタインデーの日、爺ちゃんが何か特別な物を食べたいと言い出しました。何か美味しい飲食物という事で、「飲」にはワインを、「食」にはチョコレートケーキを用意しました。とても気に入ったようです。

スイート(ロマンチック)なバレンタインデー?
いいえ!　バレンタインデーのスイーツ(お菓子)です・・・(笑)

After my lunch, I 've continued to look around the exhibition.
昼食後は展示見学の再開です。

Tow photos above has Sakura (cherry blossoms) and show taste of spring. I like such modern Japanese table setting.

上の写真２つは、いずれも桜を用いて春の香りを醸し出しています。モダンな日本的セッティングで気に入りました。

Halloween setting supposed to be a cute party for kids.
ハロウィーンのセッティングは可愛くて、子供達のパーティーに良さそう。

The photos above are from Venetian glass factory of Venice, Italy. I've got some when I'd been there. So the glasses reminded me of those days memories.

上の写真２枚はベネチアンガラス。以前ベニスに行ったとき購入した物があるので、当時に思いを馳せました。

The photo above is Kita-ichi glass factory stuffs. I also got some wine glasses from the factory when I've visited there in Otaru, Hokkaido.
They are hand-made ones with high quality and skills. Masterpiece!
こちらは北一ガラスの製品です。北海道の小樽市にも行ったことがありまして、こちらで購入したワイングラスを持っています。

ハンドメイドで高い品質と技術に裏打ちされた作品達。傑作ですね。

これは（たぶん）スワロフスキーの作品だと思います。

 There were lots of exhibition and spot sale. You can buy these kind above if you'd like to.
多くの展示即売品もあり、気に入ればその場で購入できます。

At Raynaud booth, they demonstrate how to use spice in many ways.
レイノーのブースではスパイスの使い方を実演していました。

Since Tokyo Dome is a baseball stadium.  I saw "must have" person who sells beverage. So I got thirsty and had a tea break. I didn't buy anything from her. Because she had pop soda only. I don't care so much for it.
(会場の)東京ドームは野球場ですから、飲み物を販売するこの人がいなくては・・と言う訳で喉が渇いてきまして、休憩することに。でもコーラのみを販売する彼女からは何も買いませんでした。炭酸系はあまり好きではないので。

After my tea break, I looked around again.
お茶休憩のあと再び見学です。

Oh I heard beautiful sound somewhere. These musical instruments are made by glass!!
どこからか素敵な音色が聞こえてきました。これらの楽器は何とガラス製なんです!!

Did I buy any? No, no! I like this Arita porcelain pasta plate very much but it was sold out. Too bad!
で、何か買ったのかって？いいえ! この有田焼のパスタプレートがとても気に入っていたのですが、既に売り切れでした。残念だ!

I've enjoyed the event that day.
それにしても楽しい一日でした。

Tableware festival 2012 #1

I went to see Tableware Festival 2012 at Tokyo Dome the other day. It was 20th anniversary this year so they had some special displays also.
先日東京ドームで開催されたテーブルウエアフェスティバル2012に行ってきました。今年は20周年記念の特別展示もありました。

The photo above is one of Special exhibition, Royal Crown Derby products from the Royal Wedding.
特別企画の一つ、先の婚礼に使用されたロイヤルクラウンダービー製品の展示。

Three photos above are the special display for the 20th anniversary that are from Manufacture De Monaco.
Besides, set of 300 special Grace P Kelly teacups with serial number were on sale. The products are commemorate the exhibition. They were sold out already though. Even if I had a chance, I wouldn't  purchase it. They were elegant and very nice but not my taste anyway.
上の3枚の写真が20周年記念特別展示のマニュファクチャードモナコです。
 そして300個限定でシリアルナンバー入りグレースケリーの特別なティーカップも販売されました。既に売り切れでしたが、もし買えたとしても、私は購入しません。とてもエレガントで素敵だけれど、私の好みではありませんから。

The photo above shows a combination of Japanese and European tradition. What kind of cuisine will be served? Must be haute cuisine at least.
上の写真は日本と西洋の伝統が融合されたようです。どんな料理が供されるのでしょうか？少なくとも高級料理には違いないですね。

The photo above is a Japanese lacquer products. These plate are traditional lacquered ones but fit with foreign cultural way also. Very beautiful!
上の写真は日本の漆器メーカーの作品です。伝統的な漆塗りの皿が外国の文化と見事に調和しています。なんとも美しい!

I like this atmosphere.
この雰囲気気に入ってます。

The photo above is Okura Art China's customized ones. These are for a celebration ceremony or so. It is called "Hi-node-matu"(rising sun on pine tree) and you can have a custom order.
上の写真は大倉陶園のオーダーメイド用サンプルのようです。祝い皿「日の出松」という名だそうです。　
 

Oh well, I'm getting hungry. Why don't I have a break?
Sure!! So I got a bento named "Shinagawa Bento." Why Shinagawa? Just because it my birthplace.
そうこうしている内にお腹が空いてきました。じゃ、休憩ですね?
勿論です!!と言うわけで、「品川弁当」なるものを買いました。
どうして品川かって？それはそこが私の生誕地だからです。

Terry Mama's Birthday

January 29 was Terry Mama's birthday so we had special dinner. I ordered a cake for her also.
１月２９日はテリーママの誕生日だったので、お祝いのディナーを食べました。勿論ケーキもオーダーしました。

I can't cook much since I have effected from the injection on my hand. So I ordered bento box that Ji-chan's favorite one.
(治療のため)手に注射をしている影響で(包丁を使うなどの)料理ができません。そこで毎度お馴染み、爺ちゃんの好きなお弁当を注文しました。

Terry got a new toy instead of special food. Since he has some allergy for food.
Oh well.... 
テリー君はアレルギーがあるので、特別なディナーの代わりに新しいオモチャをもらいました。

Whose birthday is it anyway??
で、一体誰の誕生日だっけ??

Tea Break with Scone

This is my tea time sweets, scone that I got at "Rose Bakery" in Kichi-joji.
私のティータイムスイーツ、スコーンは吉祥寺の「ローズベーカリー」のものです。

With clotted cream is my recommendation. I got it at "Queen's Isetan" that is one of my favorite grocery store.
クロッテッドクリームを添えてが、お勧めの食べ方です。こちらのクリームはお気に入りの店、「クイーンズ伊勢丹」で発見しました。

O-se-chi-dishes 2012

It's time to have O-se-chi-dishes.
On New Years Day, we enjoyed the dishes that I ordered from  Shikisai Ichiriki (Japanese language only) in Fukushima. This is one of support program for the suffered area. Why don't I go for?
今年もお節をいただく時期がやってまいりました。
本年元旦に家族皆で楽しんだのは福島県の温泉旅館四季彩一力の調製したもの。購入による被災地支援活動になるプロジェクトです。当然参加ですわ!

2012 The Year of the Dragon

Happy New Year!!
It has been so far long since I wrote my latest article. I was busy and my condition was not good enough for working at PC for long while.

最後に記事を更新してから随分と日が経ってしまいました。忙しかったことに加え、体調もいまいちで、あまり長時間PCを使うのは厳しいので控えておりました。
まあそれはとにかく、皆様におきましては良き一年でありますように。

Terry got a toy Dragon as his otoshi-dama (new years' day gift). He like it a lot and has played with it since this morning.
テリー君はお年玉に龍のオモチャをもらいました。とっても気に入って、朝からそれでずっと遊んでいました。

So what will you do in the afternoon, Terry?

Lunar Eclipse in Tokyo

We have a total Lunar Eclipse in Tokyo tonight.
Right now it is like the photo below. Since my compact camera, this is the limitation though.
今夜の東京は皆既月食。
只今こんな状態です。私のコンパクトカメラではこれが限界ですけどね。
