A Fine Autumn Day

I took this photo a couple of years ago. I tried to take a new one but couldn't make it. So I uploaded it instead. I may try to take a shot again sometime soon.

この写真は２～３年前に撮ったものです。新しく撮ろうと思ったのですが、なかなか出来なくて。代わりに、これをアップしました。近いうちに撮りに行ければと思ってます。

American cuisine Fiesta

As I had an on-line chat with my best friend, I told her that it was the time to be ready for fresh baked ones at my favorite bakery. I noticed her I would be heading to. She asked me to get some donuts for her.
"Hey, what do you want? Sugar glazed?", I asked.
"Chocolate one, of course!", she replied.
So I told her I might send some pics by email or so.
親友とオンラインチャットをしていた時に、お気に入りのパン屋さんでパンが焼き上がる時間になりました。彼女にそのことを告げ、出かけようとしたら、「私にもドーナツをね」とのリクエスト。
「何にする? シュガーグレイズ?」と、私。
「そりゃあもう、チョコレートよ！」 と彼女の返事。
後でメールで画像を送るわね～(何しろ相手は米国にいますから)とチャットを終えたのでした。

Too bad! Donuts were sold out. All of them! I took a photo of it from the ad instead. They have had American cuisine fiesta (but it's called America Fair).
The most funny part is their idea of American food. Everything is huge! Hamburger, hot dog, Pizza... They are all bigger than regular size of the shop.
Later, I saw the donuts. It is two times bigger than "Original glazed" of Krispy Kreme.
残念！ドーナッツは既に売り切れでした。
完売だ～! そこで代わりに広告から写真を撮りました。お店では丁度アメリカンフェァーをやってました。傑作なのは、何がアメリカンって、ハンバーガー、ホットドッグやピザなど全てデカイ! 店で販売している通常サイズよりずっと大きいんです。後になってドーナツを見ましたけれど、クリスピークリームのオリジナルグレーズの２倍はありました。

The photo on the right shows what I have had on that day. Regular size hamburger, maple toast, and fried potatoes. They didn't have what I wanted though. May be it caused from the Fiesta.
右の写真がこの日私が食べた物です。レギュラーサイズのハンバーガー、メープルトーストとフライドポテト。私の希望してたのは無かったのですけど、これもフェアーの影響でしょうかね。

Rice and Rice!

I have had s surprise gift from Subaru car dealer. I have had my car inspection recently and they have had some kind of a campaign for it. I was given a form to fill up some info and mailed it a while ago. Since then I have forgotten about it at all. Then it has delivered.
What a nice surprise! I got a small pack of Akita-komachi (tasty japonica rice) and sort of oatmeal made from rice. I may cook some sushi?
スバルのカーディーラーから素敵なサプライズギフトが届きました。少し前に私の車が車検をむかえまして、その時に何某かのキャンペーンをやっていた訳です。何やら用紙を渡され、必要事項を記入して投函。その後すっかり忘れていましたら、このようなパッケージが配達されてきました。これは嬉しいサプライズ! あきたこまちの小袋とコシヒカリの白粥が入っていました。寿司でも作ろうかしら？

Sunday afternoon in Shinjuku

One Sunday afternoon, I went to Shinjuku. To my surprise, the road to there was NOT crowded at all. It is very unusual though, rather be lucky day for me. I didn't have to drive around there to find a parking spot. I mean, I could pull over my car easily around that time in Shinjuku.
ある日曜日の午後、新宿に行きました。驚いたことに道がとても空いていたんです。いつもと違うけれど、私にとってはラッキーディでした。だって、駐車する場所を探し廻る必要が全くありませんでしたから。この時間帯では驚異的なことです。

Since I have problems on my knees, I need to take a rest every once in a while. So I did! I had a tea break at Phillip's Tea garden. It has a good view spot and I could enjoy one of landmark, Cocoon tower there. Nice view for the tower, isn't it?
何しろ膝に問題を抱えているので、時々休憩が必要です。と言う訳で、早速フィリップスガーデンお茶休憩です！ここは新宿のランドマークの一つであるコクーンタワーの景色が楽しめます。中々いい眺めでしょう?

I had Darjeeling tea and some French style cake called chiboust(Japanese language only). It was a nice break.
私は頼んだものは、ダージリン紅茶とシブーストと呼ばれるフレンチスタイルのケーキでした。お洒落な休憩となりましたよ。

After all, I headed to the shop I really wanted to go. What I've got is the photo below. It's Japanese traditional game, E-go (also called "go"). It's for Ji-chan's belated birthday gift.
The little black and white pieces has magnets and they stick on the board. So Ji-chan won't lose all those pieces while he would playing the game.
そして目的のお店に向かいました。購入したのは下の写真のものです。日本の伝統的ゲーム、囲碁です。これ、遅まきながら爺ちゃんの誕生祝いです。
この白黒碁石は磁石で出来ていまして、板にくっつくので石を紛失するのを防げます。

Ji-chan likes it very much and often plays with it.

313 Westie

Westie reunion again at Tachikawa! It is held only once in a year and it's time for gathering! This year, 2010, there were 313 Westies that have come by from almost all over Japan, like from Hokkaido to Hiroshima.
Terry has joined there, of course!
今年もウエスティが立川に集いました。年に一度の大集合です！2010年の今年は313頭のウエスティが北海道から広島から、殆ど日本中から集まった感じです。テリー君も勿論参加です。
