This place, "Megane-bashi" Bridge, is also the one I wanted to visit.
Because of such steep slope they needed to go up, there used to be Rack railway ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rack_railway) runs from Yokokawa to Karuizawa. Then They had discontinued the railway after the Nagano shinkansen bullet train started.
Now a days, it is for hiker's path to walk though.
Now we are heading to Karuizawa through the Usui Pass.
to be continued

I thought this bridge at the Emperor's Palace in Tokyo was the めがね橋? https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/551077_10151182494088247_1068844762_n.jpg
