Karuizawa 2013 #1 Tetsudou-bunkamura Train Museum

It's been incredible hot this summer so I didn't want to go out. Now it gets very nice weather so we decided to go to Karuizawa. On the way there, we have stopped by the place I wanted to be. Tetsudou Bunkamura Train Museum in Yokokawa.
今年の夏はあまりに暑くて、出掛ける気にもなれませんでした。やっと涼しくなったので軽井沢へ行って来ました。
途中で、ずっと行きたかった、横川にある「鉄道文化村」に立ち寄りました。

There are many trains displayed. I think this is the perfect spot for train buffs. Unfortunately I don't know much about it though.
沢山の列車が展示され、マニアにとっては最高の場所でしょう。残念ながら私は詳しくありませんが。

I'm not a train buff though, I think they are very beautiful and attractive.
鉄道マニアではありませんが、車体の美しさに見とれてしまいました。

The ground is very wide.
敷地はこんなに広いんです。

The miniature steam locomotive can be a ride for people. It use coals for motive power. The machine is very well made and works precisely.
ミニ機関車はとても精巧に出来ていて、人を乗せて走ることが出来ます。石炭を動力燃料にしています。

There is a diorama that demonstrates how the train runs. There are some train simulation experiences available. It's the simulator that you can have experience in reality like a flight simulator.
If you want to drive the real one, there is the way. You need to take a course study first. Then you can drive the model #EF63 for 30 minutes ride, 400 meters long. It supposed to be a great fun for the buffs. Too bad, I'm not such kind.
ジオラマもあり、列車運行の様子を再現してくれます。また、飛行機のフライトシミュレーターの様に列車運転シミュレーションも多々あります。
さらに、講習を受ければ、約３０分間４００メートルの本線をＥＦ６３と言う機関車を実際に運転する事も出来ます。マニアの方にはたまらないのでしょうね。
残念ながら、私はよく分かりませんが。

We were heading to the next spot. Terry was a bit tired of these stuffs and he was fussing while we went through the ridge of Usui Pass. When we got to the restaurant, he became a "well-behaved hi-society dog." Sounds pretty normal to him.
そして次なるスポットに向かいます。テリー君はすでに飽きてたみたいで、旧碓氷峠を越える間ずっと車中でグズってましたが、レストランに到着した途端、「上品な軽井沢の犬」に変身してました。いつもの通りです。(笑)

New Light Equipment

The energy saving project for my house is going on.
I have introduced some LED light bulbs but it was not enough. This time I got some more LED light equipment.
我が家の省エネ計画進行中。
これまでにもＬＥＤの電球交換をしてきましたが、今回は一部の器機をＬＥＤ対応のものに交換です。

Here is the new one. It has a sensor to be aware of things when they come by.
新しくこんな風になりました。センサー付きで人などが近づくと点灯します。

The entrance hall lighting seems the same as the old one though. It rather be brighter but save more electricity.
玄関ホールは、見た目は以前と変わらずですが、前より明るくて消費電力は減りました。

It has expandable wire. So it's easy for exchange the light bulb when I need to.
伸縮するワイヤーコードのお陰で電球交換が簡単になりました。

The new light for the kitchen shelf. Brighter but energy saving as well.
台所棚下。前より明るくて省電力。

So as the kitchen ceiling.
天井もスッキリして、やはり省電力。

I want to get all the light equipment for LED ones but it costs fortune. I can't make it all at once. Next time I'll get the ones for the living room and my bed room. Hopefully it will happen soon....
全部交換したいけど、ＬＥＤは本体の価格が高価なので一度に交換は厳しいです。次回は寝室やリビングの交換予定。いつになるかな?

My Toenail Problem cleared

I have got a new toenail place where my FB friend, Reiko's recommendation.
Of course, I have taken care of my toenails though. It got worse the other day and had to see a medical doctor..... then bleed!! (that was a part of medical treatment though, sooo painful!!!!!)
So I was looking for somewhere nice.
Her recommendation was perfect.
I do appreciate Reiko's help. Thanks.
FB友達のReikoさんに教えていただいたネイルサロンに行って来ました。
近くのサロンに行ってはいたのですが、過日、悪化して医者へ行き、治療のため仕方がなかったのですが「流血騒動」になってしまったのです。
こちらはとても良いサロンで、巻き爪に悩まされていた私は、本当に助かりました。

This time I choose restrained color. I have tapes on my nails that is for my ingrowing toenail problem though. It rather seems natural, doesn't it?
いつもより控えめな色にしてみました。
巻き爪治療用のテープを貼っているのですが、全然目立たないでしょ?

This is my lunch that day.
I wanted to have some coffee at "Sega Fred" but it was so crowded. I gave up my coffee then.
で、この日のお昼はこれ。
本当はSega Fredの珈琲が飲みたかったけれど、すごく混んでたので諦めました。

After my toenail do, I could walk much longer. So I stopped by at Ebisu area. The photo below shows Joel Robuchon's restaurant. He is a French cook that won three star award of Michelin Guide. I want to eat out there someday. Behind the restaurant building, there is Westin Hotel. I have stayed there once (and it was a free invitation!!). It was nice one.
足が軽快になったら、恵比寿も廻ろうという元気がでて、ちょっと寄ってみました。ミシュランガイド三つ星、ジョエルロブションのレストラン。いつか行ってみたいな。後ろのウエスティンホテルは一度泊まったことがあります。(ご招待で無料でしたが、素敵でした）

This spot is something special to me. The place I'm standing at used to be under a railroad bridge. There used to be a guy lived (so to called homeless?). I saw the guy wherever I passed through here by train. Time passed by and it has cleaned and turned into a new landmark, Ebisu Garden Place. I still can't believe that it used to be a place of beer factory.
ここ、特別な所なんです。かつてここはガード下。写真を撮っているこの辺りに住んでた人がいて(いわゆるホームレス?)、電車で通るたびに見かけたのでした。いつしか人がいなくなって、綺麗に片付いて、恵比寿ガーデンプレイスに。ビール工場跡だったとは思えない程変わってしまいましたね。

Terry's Salmon #3

I had Auntie Anne's Pretzel lately. It supposed to be first time in 5 years.
随分久しぶりに食べました。たぶん５年ぶりくらいかな？

It was so good!
But I forgot to get cheese dip......
美味しかった～！

We had unscheduled Costco shopping the other day. It was Terry Mama's idea.
What we got there were:
