Terry's Red Shirt

I got this shirt for Terry from San Francisco.
テリーのためにサンフランシスコから買ってきたこの服。

It surely fits his white hair.
テリー君の白い毛に似合うと思うんだ。

Tori-no-ichi 2013

I went to "Tori-no-ichi" this year. The photo shows the people are on line, waiting for their turn to pray for. Its origin is religious event but I think it rather be a part of Japanese culture these days.
今年は「酉の市」に行きました。写真は人々がお参りするため順番に列んでいるところです。起源は宗教的なのでしょうが、今はむしろ日本生活文化の一部だと思います。

I also stopped by Otori-shrine that is next to the main building.
本殿横の鳳神社分社にもお参りしました。

And of course, I got the magic rakes.
もちろん熊手もね。

Terry's Shopping Day

Terry likes to go shopping .
テリー君はお買い物が大好きです。

He knows that either Terry Mama or Auntie Nobue will get him something.
In fact he has got a new toy already..... You see the one beside him.
お買い物に行けば、ママか叔母ちゃんに何か買ってもらえると分かっているんです。
今日もすでにオモチャ買ってもらってるし・・・テリー君の足元にあるのがそうです。

Tangerine

My house garden is very small though. There are persimmons and tangerines.
我が家の庭は狭いけど、柿の他に夏蜜柑もあります。

I got this tree last year and now there are five tangerines.
去年買ったこの木に、今年は５個の収穫があります。

Hopefully I can get more next year.
来年はもっと増えるかな。

Another Big Shopping

Here is my another big shopping. I purchased a massage chair!
I have been thinking of it for a long while and finally I make it.
I have checked the retail price every once in a while and found a good price on the website.
Then I went to the store to purchase it. But it costed lots more than the website one. I asked them why.
Since it's the same store as I was visiting at. I asked them why they can't make it the same price as the website. It's their online store? They should do so! They said it won't debt their point program (sort of a mileage program). I don't mind!
If I won't say anything, what they would do? Sell them with higher price? Very tricky, ha!
このところ大物買いが続いていますが、以前から考えていた、マッサージチェアを買ってしまいました。
日頃からネットで価格をチェックしていまして、以前に比べけっこう安くなったので、購入しようかとお店に向かったのです。
でも店頭価格はオンラインショップずっとより高かったので、何故か尋ねました。だって同じ店のオンラインショップですよ。価格も同じに出来るはずでしょ？こちらの要求を受け入れ、結局ネットで見たのと同じ価格になりました。但し、還元ポイントは無しとのこと。全く問題なし！
もし何も言わなかったらどうなっていたんだろう？チョット不思議だよね。

Cranberry Sauce #2

I have pork chop, salt and pepper. So I cook pork saute.
豚肉と塩、胡椒でポークソテーを作ります。

Garnished cranberry sauce that I made the other day.
先頃作ったクランベリーソースを添えて

I got fresh cranberries so I made cranberry sauce.
新鮮なクランベリーが手に入ったので、クランベリーソースを作ってみました。

It's quite easy.

Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum

There are lots more spots to see in the Music Forest Museum in Lake Kawaguchi.

そして、日によっては本物のコンサートも行われます。

They have water fountain show as well.
噴水のショーもあります。

On the other hand, you can enjoy house beer at the restaurant in that area.
このエリア周辺にあるレストランで地ビールを楽しむことも出来ます。

This one had won a prize many times before.
これが、何度も賞を受賞したビールです。

I got a set of them on my way home.
お土産に買って帰りました。

My New Car

I bought a new car today!
Oh well, it's so popular so I have to wait at least 6 months to be delivered though.
車買っちゃいました！
人気車種なので、納車まで６ヶ月待ちではありますが。

Hibiscus of Costco

Terry Mama got this hibiscus at Costco last year.
テリーママが去年コストコで買ったハイビスカス。

It has kept on blooming all the year around.
I still can't believe it costed 198 yen. (Sort of like $1.98)
相変わらず元気に１年中咲いています。これが１９８円だったなんて、いまだ信じられません。

Which Color?

Thinking of the color. May be silver.....
検討中の車の色です。銀メタにしようかと。




I haven't signed up nor any paper work yet. According to them, it will take at least 6 months to be ready. It's getting very popular anyway.
まだ契約等、具体的な事は全くしてませんけど、現時点からでも納車まで６ヶ月待ちだそうです。

Sukiyaki turned into Gyu-don

I had Sukiyaki and following day I made it into Gyu-don.
すき焼きをして、翌日はそれを牛丼に

Useful way for leftover.
残り物の有効的利用だ～。

Many persimmons from my house garden.
我が家の庭で獲れた柿と

And prosciutto ham would go such gorgeous salad.
生ハムをあわせると、こんなに豪華なサラダになります。

You can have it without any salad dressings.
ドレッシング無しでも美味しいですよ。

Westie Cushion

I got this cushion cover in Karuizawa. Then Terry Mama made fillings for me.
軽井沢で購入したクッションカバー。テリーママが中身を作ってくれました。

This is Gobelin tapestry (woven stuff) . Not a printed matter.
これ、ゴブラン織りです。プリント物じゃないですよ。

I have to avoid this guy.....
この方に狙われないように気をつけないとね・・・・

Maple Leaves 2013 #2

We could not make it to see Maple corridor this year though. We still enjoyed our tour around Mt Fuji area. Since it was almost lunch time. We went to the same place as our visit last month.
By means of any, Terry's first priority is food!
紅葉狩りが空振りとなってしまいましたが、そろそろお食事タイム。と言う訳で、この前の所に再び。
テリー君の楽しみは何と言ってもお食事ですから。

Mt Fuji outside was so beautiful though. It didn't matter to Terry anyway....
富士山綺麗なんだけどね～。テリー君にはお呼びでないようで。

This time we visited not only Lake Kawaguchi but also went Lake Saiko.
そして今回は河口湖だけでなく、西湖にも足を伸ばしました。

We had our tea break at a restaurant by the lake side. When we got there, it was so cold outside.
Well, I didn't make it to visit all of Shichifukujinn. There are three more left. I want to try again sometime soon.
湖畔を眺めながらこちらでしばし休憩。外はかなり寒かったです。
ところで、七福神はまだ３つ残っているので、近い内にもう一度来たいです。

Maple Leaves 2013 #1

I could not enjoy the maple leaves this year. Neither Maple Corridor.
Only the photo I could take was this one at Lake Kawaguchi.
今年の紅葉回廊を楽しむことは残念ながら出来ませんでした。
写真を撮れたのは河口湖大橋付近のこの紅葉だけ。

Instead, I have had tour around Kawaguchiko Shichi-fuku-jin (seven gods of Kawaguchiko).
First, I got to Ebisu.
その代わり、河口湖七福神巡りを。
恵比寿神

Our second o visit was Daikoku.

Then we got to Bishamontenn.
毘沙門天

At Benzaitenn, Terry joined our photo session.
弁財天ではテリー君も一緒にパチリ。

It was too cold to visit all the seven ones. So we decided to visit the rest of them another time.
Anyway, it was a fine clear day and we could see Mt Fuji over the Kawaguchiko-O-hashi bridge.
全部廻るには寒すぎて、残りはまた別の日に行くことにしました。
河口湖大橋の向こうに富士山が綺麗に見えた一日でしたよ。

Just before Christmas

I was going to upload this photo last Christmas. Then Ji-chan had sent to the hospital by the ambulance. Since then things were incredibly hectic.
去年のクリスマス前に撮った写真。このすぐ後に爺ちゃんが救急車で病院に運ばれて、大変な日々だったんだよね。

It's been almost a year.
This photo was sort of out of focus and I was planning to take it again. But..... I couldn't make it.
Now I decided to show it.
もう１年になるのか。
この写真、ちょっとブレてて、撮り直そうと思ってたけど、それっきりになってしまった。今ここに公開してみます。

Surprise Prize #1

It happened many years ago.
One day, a package has come up with Tiffany blue box by mail. According to the note, I won a sweep steak prize.
What is in it?
何年も前のことです。
ある日、ティファニーの青い箱入りの物が送られてきました。以前応募した懸賞に当選したらしいです。何が入っているのかな？

So I opened the box and found such beautiful wine glasses.
箱を開けてみますと、こんな素敵なワイングラスが。

Since it was business collaborated novelty campaign so the glass has such logo.
メーカーとコラボのため、グラスにこんなロゴが。

これがキャンペーン対象の商品でした。
This was the campaign item.

I'm thinking of when I would use them.
いつ使おうかな～。
