Neodani Usuzumi Cherry

I wanted to see Neodani Usuzumi Cherry so far long. At last I made it!
It was so cold that day and it was light snowfall, AKA Kazahana.
I was surprised since it's already cherry season of April.
ずっと行きたかった根尾谷淡墨桜。やっと実現しました。
この日は、桜の咲く4月だというのに凄く寒く、雪がちらついて（風花）きて、ビックリでした。

This cherry tree lives over a thousand year but its life was in danger several times.
Different field of people helped and support the project of save the cherry tree.
By means of all those treatments, the cherry tree could be survived.
You see white poles between the branches. They hold each branch to stay.
千年以上も生きている桜の木ですが、何度も危機がありました。人々が生命維持のための色々な処置を施し、無事復活することが出来たそうです。写真の白いポールは、枝を支えるために添えられています。

A week after I have left, the branch on the left side suddenly fell down.
They said that it may be effected by typhoon last year.
私が帰った1週間後に、なんと、左側の大きな枝が落下してしまったそうです。
前年の台風による影響が大きいらしいとのことでした。

The Ruins Of The Castle Kuwana

I stopped by the ruins of The Castle Kuwana on the way to Nabana-no-Sato.
It was the time of cherry blossom season and I looked around the ruins to see flowers.
なばなの里イルミネーションを見に行く途中、桜の時期だったので、桑名城址公園の桜を見物しました。

The castle doesn't exist any more however, there is a bronze statue of Tadakatu Honda who was the monarch stands at the park.
お城は現存しませんが、城主である本田忠勝の銅像は残っています。

There are canals around the castle wall with pine trees and cherry trees. I could enjoy both kind of trees. The cherry was peak season that time. 
お堀には松の木があり、丁度見頃の桜を楽しむことも出来ました。

The view gives us tasteful atmosphere, right?
風情があるでしょう？

I found one of my favorite store, Kakiyasu near by the ruins. It made me happy.
すぐそばに、私のお気に入りの柿安本店が。ちょっと嬉しくなっちゃいました。

I found such nice shaped garden lantern.
こんな形の灯篭もありました。

We have this kind of Torii, the entrance gate of Shinto shrine all over Japan.
こういう鳥居、日本のあちこちで見られます。

The illustration tell a map of those days Castle Kuwana.
桑名上のかつての様子が示されています。

Weeping cherry was also beautiful.
枝垂れ桜も綺麗でした。

Then, we were heading to next spot.
そして、次なる観光スポットに向かいます。

Photography Lesson Around Narita Airport #2

I could catch both weep cherry and aircraft.
枝垂桜と飛行機の写真も撮れました。

It was very cold that day. So I had coffee break at the cafe inside the building.
この日は寒くて、ここのカフェでちょっと休憩です。

They showed me into the seat and handed in the tag like this. It meant that I was waiting for what I ordered. I see, "HNL" means Honolulu.
席に案内され、注文を待っている印にこんな札を渡されました。HNLだと、ホノルルですね。

I ordered latte and apple pie. It took so far long. Here they came at last.
カフェオレをとアップルパイを注文して、結構待たされてやってきたのがこちら。

The apple pie was not so bad.
アップルパイはまあまあでした。

This latte looks neat but it wasn't warm enough....
The cafe wasn't crowded but it took long long while to come.
According to a guy sat next to me, this cafe opened very recently.
Oh well, I should try again another time.
こちらのカフェオレ。見た目とてもお洒落なんですけど、冷めちゃってて・・
たったこれだけの注文なのに、ずいぶん待たされたんですよ。店内は混んでなかったのに。隣席の人によれば、まだオープンしたてだとか。今後に期待するとしましょう。

Although Somei-yoshino cherry has finished, Weep cherry went on still.
ソメイヨシノは終わっていましたが、枝垂れ桜が見頃でした。

I practiced to take photos of the landing moment.
ここでは着陸する飛行機の撮影を試みました。

I saw the airport terminal so I got the building in the same frame.
空港も見えるので、建物も入れた、こんな風景も撮ってみました。

There were encounters of China and Korea.
中国と韓国の遭遇もあり。

The aircraft landing of this moment reminded me of those days Northwest Airline (Delta airline by now). I just thought of those days memories.
この時間の到着は、かつて私が利用していたノースウエスト航空（現デルタ航空）。当時を思いながら撮ってみました。

Now I know how the landing situation looks like.
着陸態勢を外から見るとこんな感じなのね。

Suzaka City Nagano #1

I went Suzaka city, Nagano. The World Doll Museum has displayed such Hina-dolls for a while.
長野県須坂市にある、世界民族人形館に行ってきました。この様に、ひな人形が展示されていました。

This is one of common Hina-doll set.
こちらは一般的な、ひな人形の飾り一式。

So as this set.
こちらも同様の飾り。

You may recognize how big these ones.
これらの展示がいかに大きいかお分かりと思います。

They have traditional kind in the middle.
中央には先ほど示した伝統的なひな人形が飾られています。

It surely make people impressive.
見る人たちを圧倒していました。

Oh, there is another traditional kind.
あ、ここにも伝統的な飾りがありました。

Cherry blossoms bloomed so beautiful.
桜がちょうど満開で、とても美しいです。

Daffodils as well.
水仙も美しい。

Somei -yoshino fully bloomed so pretty. It was very unusual. According to loco people, it's about 2 weeks earlier than average year.
ソメイヨシノも美しい。地元の方によれば、いつもはこの時期には咲かないそうですが、今年は特別。二週間ほど早く開花してしまったそうです。

I visited Garyu-Park. It's known to a beautiful spot of Somei-yoshino cherry blossoms.
臥龍公園にも足を運んでみました。ソメイヨシノの美しさで知られる場所です。

I saw pink weeping cherry too.
ピンクの枝垂れ桜も咲いていました。

Wild duck seemed relaxing itself.
鴨も寛いでいるように見えました。

I wanted to take more photos though. It began raining and was getting colder. I gave up the photos and decided to move next spot.
もっと写真を撮りたかったのですが、雨が降り出し、寒くなってしまいました。それで、写真撮影を諦め、次なるスポットに向かうことにしました。

Cherry Blossoms At Zojoji-Temple

I went to Zojoji-Temple in Shiba-koen recently. Cherry blossoms bloomed everywhere. But it was hazy cloudy day. If I could get blue sky on this photo, it would be wonderful though.
芝公園の増上寺に行ってきました。あちこちで桜が満開でした。でも、霞かかった曇りでした。晴天の青い空が撮れたら最高の写真だったのですけどね。

Anyway, there were some other kind of cherry blossoms.
まあとにかく、色々な種類の桜が咲いていました。

They were all pretty.
どれも皆、綺麗でしたよ。

Arakurayama Sengen Park

It was a fine clear day so I went to Arakurayama Sengen Park in Yamanashi.
Somei-yoshino cherry blossoms are just full bloomed.
この日はとても良い天気だったので、山梨県にある新倉山浅間公園に行ってきました。

I parked my car at the bottom of the shrine and started to walk up there. The slope was not so steep so I could go up. Well, it took a long while though...
You can go up the 389 steps also.
神社の麓に車を駐車し、さっそく登り始めました。幸い坂の勾配は比較的緩やかなので、なんとか登れました。かなり時間はかかりましたけどね・・
ここは389段ある階段を登ることもできます。

I enjoyed the view on the way.
途中の景色も楽しみました。

Somei-yoshino cherry were all gone in Tokyo but you could enjoy them still here in yamanashi.
東京ではソメイヨシノはもう終わっていましたが、ここ山梨ではまだ十分楽しめました。

The one bad thing was the cloud that covered the best part of Mt Fuji.
一つ残念だったことは、富士山が雲に覆われて、最良の景色ではなかったこと。

When I reached the top of the hill, the cherry blossoms said "Hi" to me!
展望台についたとき、桜が「こんにちは」と言ってくれたみたいでした。

I took a break and enjoyed the scene for a while.
ここでしばし休憩し、景色を楽しみました。

People enjoyed it also.
皆さん、景色を楽しまれていましたよ。

After long way of walking, I needed a rest. So I had Cherry Blossom ice cream.
この長い工程を終えた後は、やはり休憩が必要。なので、桜のアイスクリームを頂きました。

This area, Yamanashi is also known to Hou-tou dish (Hot pot noodles).
Why not to have the one?
There are many of Hou-tou restaurant. When you see the sign "ほうとう" it's the place you can have this kind.
この地域、山梨ではほうとうも有名です。
当然これもいただきます。
この地域には沢山のほうとう専門レストランが沢山あります。「ほうとう」という看板を見かけたら、そこでは下の写真のような料理が頂けるのです。 　

They all tasted really good!
