RIP My Dear Friend

It's been more than a month since I uploaded my previous post.
That day, my dear friend passed away.
I was so shocked. On that day, I gave him a Facebook call but I couldn't reach. So I was going to try again later but.....
If only I tried to call him much earlier... Did the things go different?
I have no idea.

Following that midnight, I guess, I had a mysterious experience. I felt something around my neck that woke me up. I didn't understand what was going on. Now I am sure it was him.
We've talked about our plan to go to Kyoto together. Why you left me?

As I always mention; I would enjoy my life and live as long as possible.
When the time will come and I will see my parents again over there, I will tell them how wonderful my life would be. So I should enjoy myself in this real world. Otherwise my parents feel sad. That was one of my father's will.

Now I have one more person that I will have to tell about my life.
I will make you smile with my whole fun stories when I will see you there.

The Orange Tree's Problem

I didn't realized it for a long while. We were suffered from that heavy snow.
ずっと気付かなかったのですが、大雪の影響がこんな所に。

Terry Mama has taken care of the orange tree but it went as above. She was so shocked by it.
蜜柑の面倒を見ていたテリーママは大ショックです。

3 Years Since "311"

It's been 3 years since the horrible earthquake on "311". They work hard for restoring but it is still in midway. There was a charity chair in my area and I purchased some products for my very little help. Hope things will be much more better soon.
あの未曾有の大地震から３年。みな頑張ってはいるだろうけど、まだまだ復興には遠い。
私の地域でチャリティーフェアーがあり、こんなものを購入しました。ほんのちょっとだけれど、少しでも助けになればいいな。

Tomatoes are Fukushima products. Others are Miyagi ones.
トマトは福島産。その他は宮城産です。

Heavy Snow Again in Tokyo

It became snow day again in Tokyo.
See the photo below. It was 9 in Valentine's Day morning.
週末再び大雪の東京です。
バレンタインデーの朝９時はこんな感じでした。

It became this at 5 in the evening.
それが午後５時になるとこんな事に。

Seems as if we went back to last Friday.
まるで先週末に戻ったみたいです。

Well, this is actual ones of last Friday.
先週金曜日はこんなでしたね。

According to the weather report of yesterday, it was the new record of its snow depth for the first time in 120 years!!
昨日の気象庁報告によれば、今回の積雪量は１２０年間で初めての多さだそうです。

Buried in Snow

It was incredible snow in Tokyo on weekend.
According to the weather report, such heavy snow was first time in 45 years! What a record!!
My small house garden went as below.
いや～、東京の週末はとんでもない雪でした。
気象庁の報告によれば４５年ぶりの大雪なのだとか。なんということでしょう！
我が家の小さな庭も雪に埋もれてしまいました。

The gate of garden side was buried in snow.
庭側の門扉も埋もれました。

So as my car and the entrance gate.
車と玄関入り口の門扉もこの通り。

My car spot has a roof though....
車庫は屋根があるんですけどね・・・

Gift Certificate of Rice

I won a sweep steak recently. The prize was gift certificate of rice. Anyway, I can save some money.
懸賞に当選しました。お米券です。家計がチョッピリ助かるね。

Stamps

I was going to donate used stamps. Then my acquaintance gave me more!
I am sure I will use them for something nice.
使用済み切手を寄付しようと思っていたら、知り合いの方からこんなに沢山頂きました。
必ず役に立つ事に寄付します。

Surprise Prize #1

It happened many years ago.
One day, a package has come up with Tiffany blue box by mail. According to the note, I won a sweep steak prize.
What is in it?
何年も前のことです。
ある日、ティファニーの青い箱入りの物が送られてきました。以前応募した懸賞に当選したらしいです。何が入っているのかな？

So I opened the box and found such beautiful wine glasses.
箱を開けてみますと、こんな素敵なワイングラスが。

Since it was business collaborated novelty campaign so the glass has such logo.
メーカーとコラボのため、グラスにこんなロゴが。

これがキャンペーン対象の商品でした。
This was the campaign item.

I'm thinking of when I would use them.
いつ使おうかな～。

So cool!

Info about Subaru Levorg

This is Subaru's new model, Leborg.
It will have "EyeShight version 3" and will be on sale early next year. So they will have advance order very soon.
スバルの新車、Levorg(レボルグ)。
アイサイトはバージョン３になって、来年早々発売とやらで、もうじき予約開始になるらしい。

Tried a new model of Subaru XV

I tried a demonstration model (test drive car) at Subaru dealer. Since I drove the car so I couldn't tape it.

My Toenail Problem cleared

I have got a new toenail place where my FB friend, Reiko's recommendation.
Of course, I have taken care of my toenails though. It got worse the other day and had to see a medical doctor..... then bleed!! (that was a part of medical treatment though, sooo painful!!!!!)
So I was looking for somewhere nice.
Her recommendation was perfect.
I do appreciate Reiko's help. Thanks.
FB友達のReikoさんに教えていただいたネイルサロンに行って来ました。
近くのサロンに行ってはいたのですが、過日、悪化して医者へ行き、治療のため仕方がなかったのですが「流血騒動」になってしまったのです。
こちらはとても良いサロンで、巻き爪に悩まされていた私は、本当に助かりました。

This time I choose restrained color. I have tapes on my nails that is for my ingrowing toenail problem though. It rather seems natural, doesn't it?
いつもより控えめな色にしてみました。
巻き爪治療用のテープを貼っているのですが、全然目立たないでしょ?

This is my lunch that day.
I wanted to have some coffee at "Sega Fred" but it was so crowded. I gave up my coffee then.
で、この日のお昼はこれ。
本当はSega Fredの珈琲が飲みたかったけれど、すごく混んでたので諦めました。

After my toenail do, I could walk much longer. So I stopped by at Ebisu area. The photo below shows Joel Robuchon's restaurant. He is a French cook that won three star award of Michelin Guide. I want to eat out there someday. Behind the restaurant building, there is Westin Hotel. I have stayed there once (and it was a free invitation!!). It was nice one.
足が軽快になったら、恵比寿も廻ろうという元気がでて、ちょっと寄ってみました。ミシュランガイド三つ星、ジョエルロブションのレストラン。いつか行ってみたいな。後ろのウエスティンホテルは一度泊まったことがあります。(ご招待で無料でしたが、素敵でした）

This spot is something special to me. The place I'm standing at used to be under a railroad bridge. There used to be a guy lived (so to called homeless?). I saw the guy wherever I passed through here by train. Time passed by and it has cleaned and turned into a new landmark, Ebisu Garden Place. I still can't believe that it used to be a place of beer factory.
ここ、特別な所なんです。かつてここはガード下。写真を撮っているこの辺りに住んでた人がいて(いわゆるホームレス?)、電車で通るたびに見かけたのでした。いつしか人がいなくなって、綺麗に片付いて、恵比寿ガーデンプレイスに。ビール工場跡だったとは思えない程変わってしまいましたね。

Memory of Ji-chan

It's been so far long since Ji-chan's passing. It was so hard to overcome.... and it still be. Well, I'm trying to make myself better.
爺ちゃんが他界してから随分経ちました。気持ちの整理をつけるのが難しくて、まだまだ乗り越えられずにいますが、少しでも向上するよう頑張ってます。

Obituary is not so common unless celebrities in Japan. Generally, we have many memorial services after the funeral. Like the first 7th day, the 49th one, first memorial anniversary day etc.
In my family, we didn't have anything particular since we followed the desire of the deceased.
His ashes were laid to rest on June 2.  This is the common way for us. At the funeral, his body was cremated. It's our low and we need to have the cremation permit when we have the one. Then we keep the ashes at home until the 49th memorial day. But we can lay the ashes earlier if we want to.
On his 49th memorial day was June 16th, the Father's day. It must be something.
日本では、死亡記事は一般的に著名人でない限り行いません。その代わりなのでしょうか、葬儀後に初七日、四十九日、一周忌などを行います。
我が家では故人の遺志に従い、特別なことは何もしませんでした。
納骨は６月２日に行いました。ごく一般的なやり方です。葬儀で遺体は荼毘にふされます。これは法で定められており、許可証も必要です。そして遺骨は四十九日まで自宅に置くのが一般的ですが、それより早く納骨してもいいのです。
６月１６日父の日が丁度四十九日にあたりました。特別な縁を感じます。
その２週間前に納骨を済ませました。

It's a very nice view from this place. Guess where?
Well, it's a lobby of the hospital where Ji-chan had been. He had stayed here for about two months.
For him, it didn't matter. Since nothing can beat home, sweet home!
ここからの眺めは抜群ですが、何処からだと思いますか?
実は爺ちゃんが入院していた病院のロビーです。２ヶ月ほど入院していました。
彼にとっては眺めなどより、お家が一番のようです。

Hectic Days

It's been so far long since I updated last.
Ji-chan had injured at the end of last year and had been in the hospital for a while. So I've had hectic days since then.
Now he is back and thing are slowly getting back as before.
Terry is always cute and makes us easy.
ブログ更新、随分とご無沙汰してしまいました。
爺ちゃんが昨年末に負傷して、しばらく入院しました。そんな訳で、てんてこ舞いの日々でした。
現在ゆっくりと少しずつではありますが、以前の生活に近づいています。
テリー君もこうして私たちに安らぎを与えてくれます。
