Lake Yamanaka & Mt Fuji #2

Part 2 　Late September
その2 　9月下旬

It wasn't fine weather that day. At first we were not sure if we would go for it or not. It seemed unstable condition in the sky. In case of rain, it would be hard for both Terry and us to play outside.
But it's far away from Tokyo so we had a slight hope for fine weather there. So we decided to go for.
この日は天候に恵まれませんでした。当初出かけるかどうか判断に迷っていました。空は不安定な様子を呈していましたから。雨の場合、テリーと私達が戸外で遊ぶのは難しいのです。でも、東京からずっと離れた場所だし、晴れるかもとういうわずかな望みを持って出かけました。

Then we visited K's Point again. But we couldn't see Keith this time. He and his Mama had the day off. Too bad!
While we were having our lunch, I looked up on a book I brought with. It told about indoor leash-free dog park near there. I noted the phone number for I would call them and ask the details later lunch.
To my surprise, it was very close each other!
そして再びあのK's Pointを訪れましたが、キース君には会えませんでした。彼とキースママは休暇をとっていたのです。残念!
昼食をとっている間に、私は持参した本に目を通していました。それにはこの近くにあるはずの室内ドッグランの情報があったからです。電話番号をメモし、食後に早速電話し詳細を尋ねることにしました。驚いたことに、その場所はすぐ近くでした。
So we headed to "Woof" that has both doggy swimming pool and leash-free ones park. This time we played at the indoor park since it began raining hard by then. Besides we didn't take swimming gear for Terry.
そしてワンコ用プールと室内ドッグラン、両方の施設を併せ持つWoofに向かいました。今回は室内ドッグランのみ利用しました。雨が激しく降り始めたことに加え、ライフジャケット等プール用装備は持って行かなかったからです。
The photo above shows indoor leash-free dog park. I bet it used to be a tennis court. Then they turned it into the park for dogs. Isn't it nice?
上の写真は室内ドッグランです。かつてはテニスコートだったことが分かりますが、それをワンコ用に転用したんでしょうね。素敵な場所でしょ?

It has seats for audiences. I guess they have had tennis tournaments in those days. You can see the park outside through the window. It may used to be for lawn tennis court.
観戦客のための座席もあります。かつてはここでテニスの試合をしたのでしょうね。窓の外に見えるのは屋外ドッグランです。多分以前は柴コートだったのでしょう。

It doesn't matter to Terry at all. he just wanted to play around, running around!
テリー君にはそんなことは関係ありません。とにかく走り回って遊ぶだけですから。

He got many playmates also.

遊び仲間もいっぱい出来ました。

On that day,our arrival crossed with Reiko family's departure. It was just a few hour difference. I should have been there much earlier... if I have known it. Next time!

この日は友人Reikoファミリーと数時間差で入れ違いになりました。彼女がいると知っていたらもっと早く到着するんだったなぁ。次回は是非会いたいです。

Punctual flower delayed in full bloom

It had been incredibly hot summer this year so lots of "the sense of seasons" were deviated. In fact, Higan-bana that would always blooms at precisely Higan season however, this punctual flower has delayed in this season. It is finally in full bloom on today, October 2.

今年は異常な暑さで、季節感もズレた感じです。実際、いつも彼岸には几帳面に花を咲かせる彼岸花でさえ、今日10月2日にやっと満開になりました。

Lake Yamanaka and Mt Fuji #1

Part 1 Early August
その１ 八月上旬

At Lake Yamanaka, there are may good spot for dogs to visit. This cafe, K's Point is one of them. It locates right in front of the lake and the view is not so bad. We had tea break there and took a walk. Terry loves this place also.
山中湖にはワンコ用に最適の場所が沢山あります。このカフェK's Pointもその一つです。山中湖の真ん前に位置し、眺めもナカナカですよ。ここでお茶休みをしてから湖畔を散歩しました。テリー君もこの場所をとても気に入っています。

室内からの眺め。木立の向こうに山中湖も見えます。



Terry is having cheese cake that is especially made for dogs. I mean it doesn't have any artificial/chemical ingredients at all. He usually has dog food. He can have it only when he would have such special occasion.
テリー君が食べているのは犬用に作られた、添加物等が一切入っていないチーズケーキです。普段はドッグフードのみで、こういう特別な時しか食べさせないんですよ。

This is one of the restaurant owner's dog. Looks so cute! There are many dogs that the owner has and the dogs always welcome their costumer. That day, I saw flat coated retriever also. All of them are well trained.
こちらはレストランオーナーさんのワンちゃんです。可愛いでしょ！オーナさんは他にもワンコを飼っていらっしゃって、看板犬達はいつもお客様を歓迎してくれます。この日はこの子の他にフラットコーテッドレトリバーもいました。みんなとてもお行儀が良いんですよ。

Oh, someone said "Hello" to us. The same kind of dog as Terry, West Highland White Terrier. It must be his buddy!! Who is he?
おや、誰かが私達に「こんにちは」と言っています。テリー君と同じ犬種、ウエストハイランドホワイトテリアです。間違いなくお仲間だね!! 誰なのかな?

After we had fun time there, we were heading to our home. On the way back, we could see Mt Fuji. At first, I thought I could not make it but we did!
楽しい一時を過ごし、家路につきました。帰路で、見られないだろうと思っていた富士山を見ることが出来ました。

Spanish search engine

I found out that my blog is on top of Spanish search engine. It may not happen so often so I took a picture to remain such moment.

スペインの検索サイトで、私のブログがトップに来ていました。そんなことは滅多にあることではないので、記念に写真を撮ってみました。

（ちなみに、今日はフィリピンからアクセスがありました。世界のあちこちからアクセスがあって、なんか嬉しいな。）

Lake Kawaguchi, August 2010

We went to Lake Kawaguchi in mid August. That day, I was worried about the aftereffect of typhoon on the way to go. Fortunately there weren't any of it except rainy weather. We even enjoyed sunshine after we had lunch there.
At lunch time, auntie Nobue and Terry's Mama had pizza and spaghetti but thy don't have particular menu for dogs. So Terry had the own one that we brought with.
私達は８月中旬に河口湖に行って来ました。往路で台風の影響を心配していましたが、雨天だという以外、さほどの影響はありませんでした。昼食後には太陽も顔を出し、日光浴出来ました。
と言うわけで、食いしん坊のテリー君ですから、早速ランチです。ママとおばちゃんはピザとスパゲッティを食べましたが、ここはワンコ用メニューがないので、お弁当(持参のドッグフード)です。

テリー君の席から窓の外に、河口湖を臨むことが出来ます。レストランの名前は「オールドフレンズ」です。

Terry looks for his play mates. Anybody is coming? He could played with a couple of buddies after all.
ミニドッグランで。お友達が来ないか覗いているテリー君です(笑) 。このあと２～３のお友達が来て遊ぶことが出来ました。

Princess?!

On my previous article, it told about Terry's swimming day. After that, we moved toward a restaurant for our lunch. It accepts entering dogs, our favorite place to eat with Terry. Then we met Princess!?
前の記事でテリーのプール日和の事を書きましたが、その後私達は昼食を食べにレストランへと移動しました。勿論いつも行く、犬も一緒に食事が出来るところです。そこで何とお姫様(princess)にあったのです！？


Her name is Hime that means Princess in Japanese language. Wow! How pretty she is!!
彼女の名前は姫。つまりPrincessと言うことになりますね！？
きゃぁ～～、可愛い!!

And of course, Terry tried to ask her out!!
Hello, Lady. Would you like to go out with me tonigh....
そして勿論テリー君は彼女にお誘いを。
「ねえ、お嬢さん。良かったらボクと今夜・・・」


But she gave him the brush-off. Yep, he got the red card!
Oh, poor boy!　When can he make it? Someday....
しか～し、テリー君は見事ひじ鉄を食らってしまいました。そうです、レッドカード退場～～!
可哀相なテリー君。恋の実る日は来るのかな? きっといつかね!

Experience of Subaru Legacy "Eyesight"

I went through this brand new security system of Subaru Legacy "EyeSight"(click it) today. It was marvelous miracles what modern technology could do!! Amazing! I have known it by their commercials though. The real experience made me a shock!
There are some motion pictures with explanations also. It goes in Japanese language only but you can understand it by the pictures.
今日、話題のスバルレガシー"アイサイト"を体験しました。いや～、このハイテク技術にはビックリの連続でした。コマーシャルで見て知ってはいたのですが、実際体験してみると、これはもう、奇跡かも知れません。詳細の画像がオフィシャルサイトにあったので、こちらにリンクしておきます。
Legacy "EyeSight" motion pictures

The system is not only stop the vehicles but also it can chase after other car in front of it. We should call it as a new auto cruise system. It was another surprise to me also.
システムは車が障害物の前で自動的に止まるだけでなく、目前の車のあとをついていく事も出来るのです。新しいオートクルーズシステムと呼ぶべき物だと思います。

It reminded me of American popular TV series called "KITT of Knight Rider". It was totally fiction in those days. But it is the REAL thing in contemporary Japan! Surprise! Surprise!!
それは、かつて米国のTVで放映されていた人気シリーズ、"ナイトライダーのKITT"を思い起こさせます。当時は全て完全なフィクションでしたが、今や日本では全て現実となっているのです！驚きだぁ～～！！

Splash, Terry!! 2010

It's time for Terry to go swimming! So just the same as last year, we went the pooch's swimming pool in Moroyama.
毎度お馴染み、水泳の季節がやって来ました！と言うわけでワンコ用プールのある毛呂山に行ってきました。 　　　　


He enjoys there. Amazingly, there weren't anyone else except us. I think it was the weekend of Obon season. People would go on their vacation already. So the swimming pool was like private one for Terry!
テリー君、それは大喜びで泳ぎました。驚いたことに、この日は私達以外誰もいませんでした。多分、お盆直前の週末なので皆は既に休暇を取って出かけてしまったのかと思います。そんな訳で、この日のプールは完全にプライベートプールとなりました。


While we were taking a break, Terry did strange action. I guess that he couldn't wait and demanded to go for swim. See his funny action!
私達が休憩を取っている間、テリー君はとてもおかしな動きをしていました。多分、待ちきれなくて早く泳ごうと要求しているのかなと思いました。彼の不思議なアクションをご覧下さい！

His Ordinary Day

It's just his ordinary day.
He takes a walk.
When he comes back home, washing the paws and .....
drying them all.
彼にとってそれはごく普通の一日。
お散歩に出かけ
お家に帰ったら足を洗い・・・
乾かす。

Oh well, I would take a nap.
So let it go....
余は一寝入りするぞよ。
あとは良きに計らえ・・・

Watching Fireworks Fiesta from my house

July 31 (yesterday) was Sumida-gawa firework festival day. I had planed to be there but I couldn't make it. I have very bad knee pains and could not walk normally. Of course I'm having medical treatment though. I had to give up to go there. I felt sad.

昨日7月31日は隅田川の花火大会でした。本当は行くつもりだったのですが、行かれませんでした。何しろ膝がもの凄く痛くてまともに歩けず、勿論医師の治療は受けていましたが、見に行くのを諦めなければなりませんでした。ガッカリです。（右の写真はオフィシャルサイトからの借用です）

So I was going to watch it on TV since they have special program that night. Soon after I turned it on, I heard something explosive devices from outside my house. I looked through the window and saw a fireworks over there!
I grabbed my camera and went upstairs, went out on the balcony.
Wow! I can see them even from my house!
その夜は特別番組で花火を見ることが出来るので、それを見ようと思っていました。丁度テレビを付けた直後のことです。外で何か破裂音がしています。窓越しに見ると、何と花火が見えました!
カメラを掴み2階に上がり、ベランダに出てみました。
わ～い、家から花火が見えるぞ!
This was not Sumidagawa's one but Tachikawa Fiesta one. They held such fiesta everywhere in the same day. I even could see other ones that launched at SEibu-enn. So I won't complaint.
それは隅田川の出はなくて立川の花火でした。同じ日にあちこちで花火大会があったようです。西武園の花火も見えました。だから文句は言わないことにします。

Anyway it was so hot that night. I quenched my thirst by this fancy stuff.
まあ、とにかく喉の渇きをこんな物で癒やしました。Instead of Yebisu, I had Harida (Vietnam) beer. Also ebi-senn, my favorite snack. Yummy night!
(It went much less foam since it took long while to take photos anyway.)
いつものエビスビールの代わりにハリダというベトナムビールを飲みました。う～ん、おいちい（笑）夜ね!
（写真を撮るのに時間がかかって、泡がすっかり消えてしまいましたけど）

Terry's smile

Terry likes to eat out. We have such kind of restaurant. I mean, dogs and human can have meals at the same table. It is called "a dog cafe" and it's in everywhere. I should say, it's such hot spots to visit.

テリー君は食事に出かけるのが好きです。日本にはそう言うたぐいのレストランがあちこちにあります。つまり、犬と人間が同じテーブルで食事が出来るんです。「ドッグカフェ」と呼ばれています。近頃流行の場所ですね。

日本語版では以前に紹介したのですが、写真加工が出来なくて、一部にしか公開していませんでしたので、改めて紹介いたします。

Terry's Birthday

July 15 was Terry's 5th birthday. This year he had oven grilled lamb chops (and cooled it down, of course) instead of birthday cake. Why no cake? Simply because we didn't have a time to buy it.

He liked them all. The photo above shows him "chewing" lamb bone.

７月１５日はテリー君の５回目のお誕生日でした。今年はバースデーケーキの代わりにラムチョップスをオーブンで焼き（もちろん充分に冷ましてから）それをもらいました。何故ケーキが無いかって？買いに行く時間が無かったのです。

テリー君、ラムは大好きなんです。上の写真はラムボーンを(ガムのように)咬んでいる所です。

The first one is wearing judo jacket. He even has a black belt!? And with this photo, he passed through the audition of doggy fashion show. Yes, he walked through "cat walk" as a model!!
最初は柔道着姿です。しかも黒帯ですよ !? そしてこの写真でワンコファッションショーに応募し審査を通過しました。モデルとしてステージに立ち「キャットワーク」も歩きましたよ!

The second one shows that he experienced walking on snow for the first time in his life.　He wore a shirt under the raincoat for coldness protection.
２番目の写真は、生まれて初めて雪の上を歩いたときのものです。レインコートの下には防寒のためのシャツも着ているんですよ。

The third one is wearing a life jacket. He is ready for summer! I got it for him from suburbs of San Francisco. (spoiled dog!) Click here to see him in the doggy swimming pool! There are some motion pics also.

Fancy Toilet

I have had another house remodeling project again. I would say, the project #3. The toilet parts has done. I forgot to take a picture of its before though. It became so neat and nice. The bars on both side will be a big help when I'll get old.
I've wanted to have Washlet so far long. (Click Washlet and you may learn about it.) Lately, it has introduced in LA area also.
It was invented in Japan and we have lots more high spec models than its web site explanations for export use. Sort of like cellphone.
Anyway, I've just made it to have the one in my house!
再びリフォーム中の我が家です。プロジェクト３と名付けましょう。今回のプロジェクトの一つ、トイレ部門は終了しています。でも「ビフォアーアフター」みたいに工事前の写真を撮り忘れてしまいまして、完成後の写真のみです。とても綺麗に仕上がりました。両側の手摺りは、老後の大きな手助けとなるでしょう。
ずっと前から考えていたウォシュレットも付けました。これからの必需品だと思っています。ウォシュレットは携帯電話同様、日本が世界に先行していて、近年LAでも注目されていました。やっと我が家にもついたぞ！

I didn't pick up such high spec one. It was too much for me so I decided to have basic standard model instead. At their official web site, there are

不要な機能がありすぎでも無用の長物なので、高機能モデルではなく、ベーシックな物を選びました。メーカーのオフィシャルサイトに機能の説明がありましたのでここに紹介しておきます。全て日本語ですが、動画や図解で説明されているので分かり易いと思います。私の選んだ機能がおわかり頂けるかと思います。

はい、こちらがその写真です。インテリアも全て私が選びました。

I also had a radiator heating system for the room. It's the same one as we have at the first floor one. (This toilet is on the second floor.) It may protect us from both winter coldness and heat shock.
足元には、１階にあるのと同じヒーターを付けました。冬の寒さとヒートショック防止に役立つでしょう。

What should I do from now on? Keep on cleaning them every time?
Oh, that's the LAST thing I would do...... whoops!
さて、私が今後すべきことは何でしょう?この綺麗さを毎日保つためのお掃除？それは絶対無理な事ですワン・・・・(^^;)

Curry lunch meeting at Kagurazaka

It took so far long to upload this article though. I had Indian curry lunch meeting with my friends at Kagurazaka. I didn't have my camera so I have got them from the web sites.
Besides, I would introduce my friends' articles on their blogs. Please have a look.
記事を立ち上げるのにかなり時間が経ってしまいましたが、神楽坂で友人達とインドカレーを食べました。カメラが無かったので、写真はウェブから借用しています。同行した皆さんの記事があるブログを紹介しますのでご覧になって下さい。
Its name is "Omoi no ki". The owner is very friendly, attractive and polite person. The photo (from the web site) shows inside the restaurant. We had Dosa as our appetizer. Since it was lunch time so I picked a set menu that can have choices of three different curry. What did I have? Well, I don't remember.... whoops!
お店の名前は、「想いの木」。とても感じの良いオーナーさんが切り盛りする、店内の雰囲気はこんな感じです。（写真はウエブからの借用です。）
まずはドーサを前菜に、ランチタイムだったこともあり、セットメニューのカレーを注文しました。３種類のカレーを選ぶことが出来ます。私、何を選んだっけ？忘れちゃった・・・

It was incredible. We all had Tandoori chicken even after the curry dish. But I could have them all. Such how they were all tasty. Especially the chicken. I haven't had such tender soft one. I don't like too spicy food but it was just enough spice for me. Absolutely perfect! I go addictive! I have noticed such high quality cooks/chefs they have there.
それはもう驚嘆の世界でした。カレーの後にもかかわらず、皆タンドリーチキンを注文しました。でも私、シッカリ食べちゃいましたよ。何しろお料理はどれもみんな美味でした。特にチキンはもう最高。こんな柔らかなのは初めてです。私はあまり刺激の強い食べ物は好みではありません。でもこれは私に丁度良い辛さで、もう完璧！病みつきになりそうです。 厨房で働くインド人シェフ達のレベルがいかに高いかを思い知らされました。

Terry had a party also テリー君もパーティ参加

Just like we, the human have party, Terry had the one last November. I haven't written about him since last Halloween. Oh, it's been such a long long while! (The first photo below is from the Westie Party official site. all the other photos were taken by me.) At the party, there were almost 280 dogs gathered. Almost all of them were Westie, of course. Isn't it something?!


人間がパーティに参加するように、テリー君もパーティが昨年１１月にありました。 テリー君の記事はハローウィン以来すっかりご無沙汰になってしまいましたね。（下の写真がオフィシャルサイトからの写真です。その他の写真は私が撮影しました。）この回は、全部で２８０頭近くのワンコが集結していまして、ほぼ全てウエスティです。すごいでしょ？

Terry could see his friend, Rice, for the first time in a year. Well, his first priority is not a friendship but food!
一年ぶりにお友達のライス君と会いました。 でも目線は、友情よりおやつ！の食いしん坊テリーがバレバレです(笑)

So as met his other friend, Max. It's been a year since they met last time. Yes, just the same as Rice. The other one next to Terry supposed to be a compatriot (born from the same parents in different time) sister of Max, if I remember correctly. Since it was so far away, I don't remember it well.
そしてこちらのお友達も、ライス君と同じように、１年ぶりの再会を果たしたマックス君。その後ろにいる女の子は、確かマックス君の同胞姉妹のはずなんだけど、随分と時間が経ってしまって、チョット忘れちゃったんです(^^;)
マックス君、ライス君随分と時間が経っちゃってゴメンね。また今年の秋も会えるかな?　その前にドッグランで会えるといいな。

Sometime I miss American foods

I miss American foods once in a while. Then I would see the pics to remain them. Oh well, since these pics carry zero calorie. So it should be healthy!!
時々アメリカの食べ物が恋しくなります。そんな時はこうして写真を眺めます。何しろ写真ならカロリーゼロですから、とってもヘルシーなわけです！

The first pic is for my breakfast. It rather be a heavy one for me though. It's just a common one but a bit too much for me, however, it's chicken with vegie wrap and coffee. Very healthy.
最初の写真は私の朝食です。ごく普通のものなんですが、私にはチョットずっしり来ましたけれどね。チキンラップとコーヒーで、結構ヘルシーなものでした。

The second one is for my supper. 　I had free refill iced tea also. I had this with my friends. Do you recognize the size? The fork is normal size so you may know how big this hamburger is!
２番目は私の夕食です。友人達と一緒に食べました。一緒に飲み放題のアイスティーもありました。このハンバーガーのサイズが分かりますか？横にあるフォークは普通のサイズですから、いかに大きなハンバーガーかおわかりかと思います。

The third pic is for my lunch. I had it alone. You may think it must be healthy since it's shrimp salad. Oh well, it was such big amount. I was filled up so I couldn't have anything more.
こちらはランチです。この時は一人でした。シュリンプサラダのみだからヘルシーだろうって?いや～、かなりの量で、これだけで満腹になってしまい、他のものは食べられなかったんです。

The last one is for my snack. I got this pancake mix at Japanese grocery store. Of course I cooked them! I mean I missed Japanese taste at that time.
Oh well, I didn't have all of them at the same day, of course! I can’t have such big amount in a day.
最後の写真は私のおやつ(スナック)です。勿論、私が作ったんですよ！このパンケーキのもとは日本食材店で購入しました。だって、この時はチョット日本の味が食べたかったんです。

あ、これ、全て別の日に食べたものです。いくら何でも、こんなに沢山は、同じ日に食べられませんから。

Girls Talk Party at Shibuya いっちゃんのオフ会再び

I went to a party at Shibuya the other day. It was held for a nice lady who came back from England. It has several months passed since I saw her last time. The articles about last time is here.

渋谷でのパーティに参加してきました。これはイギリスから帰国中の素敵なレディー、いっちゃんの為の会です。この前彼女に会ってからはや数ヶ月。さらに素敵になって、キラキラ輝いていました。

六本木のオフ会

This time I didn't take any photos again. Why? Simply because I forgot to bring my camera with me. My cell phone has a camera though, the place was a bit dark and it seemed a bit hard to take such snap shots. So I gave up taking pics. But I knew what dishes we have had there.
今回も写真が全くありません。何故かって？単にカメラを持って行くのを忘れちゃったんです。携帯のがありますけど、会場がちょっと暗めで、撮すのは厳しそうだったので諦めました。でも出されたお料理は分かっています。

I have introduced a new security system in our house. This new one links with both our house phone and door phone. I mean it works through the telephone line to see who comes at the door. Besides, it has a picture recoding device and I can check who had come while my absence.
我が家に新しくセキュリティカメラを導入しました。これは電話とドアフォンに連動しています。つまり、電話回線を利用して玄関の来訪者をカメラで見ることが出来ます。そして私が留守の時に、誰が来たのかを画像で記録しておくことも出来るんです。

But there is one problem. The garage gate interrupts in view of the security camera.
しかし一つ問題があります。それは車庫の門扉がカメラの視野を遮ってしまっていることです。

This old gate has been ruined and couldn't open/close it anymore. So I had planed to get a new one sometime. I think now is the time!
古い門扉は錆び付いて閉開出来ないのでそのうち工事をしようと思っていまして、とうとうその時が来たようです。

Now I have many meetings for this gate construction and need to do paper works before we start it. It would be for tax reduction next year. I need so many process to work for the tax break but it's worth to go for.
今、新しい門扉の工事で色々なミーティングをしています。これは減税対策につながるので、書類作成が面倒なのですがその価値があります。

Ah, what a tough job.....!

あ～、でも疲れるなぁ・・・・
