Tokyo Quilt Festival #1

The exhibition of Tokyo Quilt Festival has being open.
I don't work for any of craft work though, I'd like to watch their works. On the other hand, Terry Mama love to work this kind so she enjoyed the exhibition.
開催中の東京キルトフェスティバルに行ってきました。私自身は手芸関連は全くやりませんが、見るのは好きです。（同行した）テリーママは手芸大好き人間なので、この催しをたいそう気に入った様子でした。

This one isn't the grand-prize craft but its pattern that based Japanese characters caught my eyes somehow.
大賞ではありませんが、日本語をモチーフにした作品に、何故か惹かれました。

Same pattern with different colors was impressive.
同じパターンをこんなに沢山の色遣いで。とても印象的でした。

Strange enough, it rather be monochrome kind though, it reminds me of flower garden.
モノクロっぽいのに何故か花畑を連想してしまう不思議な作品でした。

Cute displays that I liked.
こんな可愛いディスプレイも気に入りました。

These traditional patterns that remind me of my visiting Amish village in Ohio.
これらの伝統的パターンはオハイオ州にあるアーミッシュの村を訪ねた時を思い出させてくれます。

This is lovely.
これも可愛い。

Stamps

I was going to donate used stamps. Then my acquaintance gave me more!
I am sure I will use them for something nice.
使用済み切手を寄付しようと思っていたら、知り合いの方からこんなに沢山頂きました。
必ず役に立つ事に寄付します。

A Bald Patch

Once, Terry has got a bald patch on his face.
随分前のことですが、テリー君、お顔がハゲちゃった事がありました。

According to his vet, it may caused from some kind of malt or fungus. But the vet was puzzled why Terry has got such ones. Well, Terry Mama can think of the reason.
原因は麹系のカビらしい。お医者さんは不思議がっていましたが、テリーママには思い当たる事がありました。

As a matter of fact, Terry Mama and Terry drunk beer or sake together. As you know, they are made from malt or so. Since then, Terry Mama regretted it and stopped drinking with Terry at all.
それはね、こっそりビールや日本酒飲んでたんです。この一件以来、テリーママは反省して、テリー君と晩酌は止めたのでした。

Sometimes, Terry stares fixedly at something.
テリー君は時々鋭い視線を投げかけることがあります。

Look at his face. He looks daggers at his opponent....
この目つき。獲物を逃がす物かという感じですが・・・

He has a keen sense of smell, especially for food.
特に食べ物への嗅覚は、それは凄いものがあるのです。

His Medicine #4

There are many way for Terry to have a medicine (pill).
テリー君にお薬を飲ませる方法は色々あります。



It works if only we give him food.
ご飯があれば、こんな方法でも大丈夫です。

Sweets for Holidays

Cakes that I had during New Year's Holidays.
新年に食べたケーキ類です。

体重にも気をつけないとね。でも、これも食べちゃったんだ。雪見だいふく。
I have to be careful for my weight. But I had Yukimi-Daifuku, (ice cream covered with mochi ).

美味しいんだな、これが。
Very tasty.

Hatu-moude, Visiting a Shrine 2014

I could visit the shrine at last.
Most people go there on the New Year's Day though. It doesn't have to be. Since the way of our worship is basically "self-service". If only you want to have particular service, that's when you ask the Shinto priest for "custom-made service."
やっと初詣に行けました。
日本では元旦に初詣をする人が多いですが、そうしなくても良いのです。自分から出向いてお参りするのが基本ですから、この日でなくてはと言うことではありません。何か「特別に祈祷」して欲しいときは神主さんに申し出るのです。

Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year and many more to come.
今年が良い年になりますように。

His Hair Do

This is his hair do.
テリー君のヘアーセット。



But not the regular one.
These two are "regular" hair do.
でもこれはいつものとは違います。
こちらの2本が「いつもの状態」なんです。






Rather seems unusual though......
むしろこちらの方が変わっていると思えますかね・・・

Time for Soft Shell Crab

It's time for soft shell crab. I had the one at my favorite Chinese restaurant. So it is Chinese taste.  
ソフトシェルクラブの季節になりまして、今回はお気に入りの中華料理店にて頂きました。なので、中華風です。

Also I had seafood yakisoba (stir-fried) noodle.
この日のランチ、海鮮焼きそばと共に。

I was full and very satisfied.
沢山あってお腹いっぱいでした。

Sweet Red Mt Fuji

I found "Red Mt Fuji" at a cake shop. Why not to buy?
ケーキ屋さんで見つけた「赤富士」。さっそく購入してみました。

Here is inside "Red Mt Fuji". Looks like volcano?
こちらが内部。「火山」みたい？

It was limited-edition supply.
期間限定品でした。

His Toys

He got a dragon in the year of Dragon.
辰年はこれでした。

In the year of Serpent, he got a snake. But I didn't upload it for some reasons.
蛇年は勿論蛇をもらいましたが、色々あって写真がアップできませんでした。

He plays with them just as usual.
いつもの通りもらったオモチャで遊びます。

In the year of Horse, this year, as well.
午年の今年も同じ。

He likes the way he goes.
この遊びが大好きなんです。

Easy Cooking from TV Show

I got some portabella mushroom, Stilton blue cheese. So I tried to cook something that I saw on TV cooking show. I don't remember the details.... but I tried.. Anyway, it was not bad.
ポータベラマッシュルームにスティルトンチーズが手に入ったので、テレビ番組でやっていた料理を作ってみた。作り方の詳細を全く覚えて無かったけど、何とかやってみた。結構美味しかった。

It went well with red wine. I had lot..... whoops!
赤ワインと良く合って、チョット飲み過ぎ・・・ヤバ！

O-se-chi, Traditional New Year's Dish

Here is my "O-se-chi" (new year's dishes). It is our traditional Holiday dishes, sort of like Christmas dinner.
It is from "Ichi-monji" in Kagurazaka, Michelin guide two stars award restaurant.
今年のお節は神楽坂の「一文字」。ミシュランガイド二つ星のお店です。

This is from Ichimonji of Kagurazaka. Ji-chan wanted to have it though, won't make it forever.....
I dished up some of them and made an offering to him. He may enjoyed them at heaven....
喪中でも食べ物は別。爺ちゃんが食べたかった、店の物です。それで私が食べる前に仏前に供えました。

I didn't upload last years ones for some reasons. So I would do by now.
This is from "Shi-fu-ku" in Kagurazaka.
去年は記事を書くどころではなかったので写真がそのままになってました。こちらは、神楽坂の「しふく」より取り寄せました。

Year of Horse

This is the year of horse.
今年は午年。

So Terry got horse toy.
と言うわけでテリー君、干支のオモチャを貰いました。

Then he plays with it, same as usual.
で、いつものように遊びます。

He wants to keep it with him always....
で、オモチャは独占したいのね。

Mt Fuji in Red

The legend has it that if you see Mt Fuji in red, it is something lucky toward you.
I don't know if this is it or not but I saw Mt Fuji seemed in red on the new years' day morning..
So I took photo.
赤富士は縁起が良いとか。
これがそうなのかは分かりませんが、元旦の朝富士山がこんな風に見えたので撮影してみました。

It's hard to be recognized anyway.
ちょっと分かり難いかな？

What Is On The Floor?

I felt something behind me.....
Then I found "a hairy white thing" on the floor.....
背後に気配を感じて・・・
床に「白い毛皮の物体」を発見！（笑）
