Museum Tour #2 Lunch time

While we were heading to Ghibli Museum from Fujiko F Fujio museum, we have stopped by a hotel in Odaiba area for our lunch.
Too bad, the road was really crowded. But I could see may of landmarks in center of Tokyo.
藤子不二雄美術館からジブリ美術館へ向かう途中、お台場のホテルにてランチタイムです。
大渋滞の高速でしたが、都内のランドマーク巡りも出来ました。

Went through  Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Tower..
六本木や東京タワーを通過し

Shibuya area as well
渋谷界隈を通り抜けて

Heading to the hotel in Odaiba area.
Oh, I can see something over there....
お台場方面に向かいます。
お、向こうに見えるのは・・・

Went through "The Rainbow Bridge"
レインボーブリッジも渡って

Passed by "Telecom Center building"
テレコムセンターのビルを横目に

Also saw "Tokyo Big Sight" building
東京ビッグサイトを目前に

This is where we had our lunch.
昼食をとったレストランはこちら。

They scheduled enough time for "all you can eat lunch" though.  We faced big delay because of the heavy traffic and our lunch time was only 30 minutes! Under such circumstance I surely had roast beef dish twice!!
でも道路がとても混んでいて、食べ放題のはずが僅か３０分足らずの食事時間になってしまいました。それでもローストビーフはしっかりゲット(しかも２回）(笑)

I want to come again and try some more dishes sometime.
時間のあるときにまた来てみたいな。

Then we got into the tour bus and heading to Ghibli Museum.
再びツアーバスに乗り、ジブリ美術館に向かいます。

Museum Tour #1 Fujiko Fujio (Doraemon) museum

I went to two museum lately. The one is Fujiko F. Fujio (Doraemon) Museum.
The other is Ghibli museum.
I have wanted to be there and finally I could make it.
２つの美術館巡りのツアーに参加しまして、ずっと行きたかった藤子・Ｆ・不二雄美術館に行って来ました。

I really wished if I can have the one!
どこでもドア！　本当にあったらいいのにね。

There are many of those who famous cartoon characters everywhere.
お馴染みのキャラが、あちこちに。

It was very hot that day so I had ice-cream. Look! It's such cute one. Pancake kind is on the both side and ice-cream is inside.
この日はもの凄く暑くて、アイスが食べたい！そこでこんな可愛いものを。中身がアイスです。

I found "anki-pann" (magic bread that give you great memory ability on the cartoon story) at the souvenir shop.
お土産店で、「暗記パン」を発見！勿論購入しました。

Then we were heading to Ghibli museum.
Ops! We need food first.
そして次なる場所、ジブリ美術館を目指します。
あ、その前にランチタイムです。(笑)

Easy cooking #3 peach salad

I got many Fukushima peaches and cooked salad with them.
福島産の桃を沢山買ったので、サラダにしてみました。

Looks great, doesn't it?
美味しそうでしょ?

It can be a little help for Fukushima.
Here is the recipe. It's easy and quick.
福島のためにチョットだけお手伝いです。
レシピはこちら。早くて簡単ですよ。

(4 servings)
3 peaches, peeled and roughly diced
fresh mozzarella cheese (125 grams), crumbled
lettuce
1 tablespoon lemon juice (15 milli-litters)
black pepper
dressing (ready made one)

(4人分)
桃　３個　ひとくち大に切る
モッツアレラチーズ　１２５ｇ　ひとくち大にちぎる
レタス
レモンジュース　大さじ１（１５ｍｌ）
黒胡椒
ドレッシング(市販の物)

1) Drizzle peaches with lemon juice.
2) Arrange the lettuce, peaches and mozzarella cheese on individual serving plates.
3) Add black pepper and serve with your favorite dressing..

１）桃にレモンジュースを振りかける。
２）レタス、桃、モッツアレラチーズを器に盛る。
３）黒胡椒をふり、好みのドレッシングでいただく。

Ms Clyv's paintings

Terry Mama (my sister) had a wonderful experience recently.
She has planed to buy Ms Clyv's paintings for long while.
By the time we had visited an art gallery, we have learned that Ms Clyv herself was coming to Japan in a moment and would have her exhibition.
What a coincidence! Terry Mama has been a fan of the artist and was looking forward to see  the lady directory.
テリーママが素敵な体験をしました。
ずっと前から欲しかった絵を購入しようと、ギャラリーに出向いたところ、その作家が来日し、サイン会も行うとのことでした。
まあ、何という偶然でしょう！大ファンのクリーブさんに直接お目にかかれるなんて！

The photo below shows Ms Clyv is giving her autographs and illustrations on the paintings that Terry Mama(my sister) bought. She got two of them and felt soooo happy.
購入した絵にサインとイラストを描いていただいているところ。作品を２枚購入し、両方にイラストとサインを頂きました。それはそれは嬉しかったようです。

Splash Terry 2013

It's time for swimming.
今年もこの季節がやってきました。

He went to the swimming pool as usual and enjoyed himself a lot.
Yes, frolicking in the water. He has already been there 2 times.
いつものプールで大はしゃぎ。既に2回行っています。

I want to take him here as much as possible this year.
Let's enjoy summer, Terry!
今年は出来るだけ沢山行きたいと思っています。
いっぱい楽しもうね。

Terry's Birthday 2013

Terry became 8 years old by July 15, 2013.
テリー君は2013年7月15日で8歳になりました。

Just as usual, Terry got birthday gift (toy) and had special cake (salmon and kabocha pumpkin) that Terry Mama made. I guess he liked the cake so much.
今年もオモチャをもらい、テリーママ特製の鮭とカボチャのケーキを食べました。
美味しかったみたいですよ。

This is for human.
こちらは人間用。

This is for Terry.
こちらがテリー君用。

 

Then he took the toy toward his particular spot as usual.
そしていつものように、オモチャを隠します。

We went to Lake Kawaguchi and stayed at the doggy park...... same as usual.
河口湖のドッグランにも行きました。

He looks so happy, don't you think?
嬉しそうな顔してるでしょ?

Herb Festival of Lake Kawaguchi 2013

I went to the Herb Festival of Lake Kawaguchi. It seemed a bit different as it used to be... may be because it has registered the World Cultural Heritage.
久しぶりに河口湖ハーブフェスティバルに行ってきました。
富士山が世界遺産に登録された今年はいつもと違ってましたね。

Most of lavender bloomed out. Some of them were almost ready though. They were very pretty.
一部開花がまだの所もありましたがほぼ綺麗に咲いていました。

There were such pretty flower tower also....

Terry enjoyed the flowes.
テリー君も鑑賞です。

The Mu-zu Museum was admission free to commemorate the registration.
世界遺産登録を記念して、ミューズ館が入場無料でした。

Although we couldn't make it, you can see Mt Fuji like the photo below if it would be fine weather. So I used the photo (below) from the official site. It shows the lights of the cabin on the mountain.
オフィシャルサイトの写真では、背景に富士山が。しかも山小屋の明かりまで見えます。私たちは残念ながら観ることは出来ませんでした。

We had lavender ice-cream that is the must have one for us!
ラベンダーアイスクリームもはずせません。

Then we had meal time here. It's Terry's favorite place.
そしてお食事はテリー君行きつけのこちらで。

Since Terry has allergy for some food so we brought salmon for him.
テリー君は食物アレルギーのため、持参した鮭を食べました。

After all we went to a doggy park. Just as usual...
その後はお約束のドッグランで。

We had a fun time there. Yes, we'll visit there again, Terry.

Memory of Ji-chan

It's been so far long since Ji-chan's passing. It was so hard to overcome.... and it still be. Well, I'm trying to make myself better.
爺ちゃんが他界してから随分経ちました。気持ちの整理をつけるのが難しくて、まだまだ乗り越えられずにいますが、少しでも向上するよう頑張ってます。

Obituary is not so common unless celebrities in Japan. Generally, we have many memorial services after the funeral. Like the first 7th day, the 49th one, first memorial anniversary day etc.
In my family, we didn't have anything particular since we followed the desire of the deceased.
His ashes were laid to rest on June 2.  This is the common way for us. At the funeral, his body was cremated. It's our low and we need to have the cremation permit when we have the one. Then we keep the ashes at home until the 49th memorial day. But we can lay the ashes earlier if we want to.
On his 49th memorial day was June 16th, the Father's day. It must be something.
日本では、死亡記事は一般的に著名人でない限り行いません。その代わりなのでしょうか、葬儀後に初七日、四十九日、一周忌などを行います。
我が家では故人の遺志に従い、特別なことは何もしませんでした。
納骨は６月２日に行いました。ごく一般的なやり方です。葬儀で遺体は荼毘にふされます。これは法で定められており、許可証も必要です。そして遺骨は四十九日まで自宅に置くのが一般的ですが、それより早く納骨してもいいのです。
６月１６日父の日が丁度四十九日にあたりました。特別な縁を感じます。
その２週間前に納骨を済ませました。
