Act for Japan!!

I bought some eggplants, bell peppers and peaches. They all harvested in Fukushima.
Because of the power plant problem, Fukushima people has been suffered from bad reputations and can't get enough incomes.
So buying their crops can be a little help. Why don't I try?
茄子とピーマン、それに桃を買いました。これらは皆、福島県産です。
例の原発問題のせいで福島県の人達は風評被害に遭い、十分な収入が得られないでいます。
だから作物を購入することが少しの手助けになります。ならば当然買うでしょうが!!

"Italiano!!" Since then...

I have cooked some pasta with my new cookware since then.

The sauce is shrimp and creamy tomato.

その後、例の新しい鍋でパスタを料理しました。エビのクリーミートマトソースです。

This time I had fresh pasta that contains rice powder. It tasted different from regular Italian style one though, I liked it. 

今回は米粉入りの生パスタを使用しました。いつものイタリアンスタイルとはチョット違った味でしたが、気に入りました。

After all, they all go into the dish washer. Quite easy, right?
あとは食洗機にお任せで。簡単でしょ?

Easy cooking #2 corn chips

Here is another easy cooking.
Place corn chips on the bottom.
Add dice cut yellow and red tomatoes on it.
Pour your favorite ready-made tomato sauce on it.
That' all.
再び簡単クッキングです。
コーンチップスを敷きつめます。
その上にサイコロ状に切ったイエロートマトと(普通の)トマトを乗せます。
お好みの市販のトマトソースを書けて出来上がり。
はい、これだけ。

I did this before I bought my new cookware anyway.
これはあの新しい鍋類を購入する前に作ったものですけどね。

Get cool breeze at Oku-Tama area

It's been hot days still. I had some mint water and went somewhere to get cool breeze.  It wasn't enough. So I tried to get more breeze.
Then where do I go for? Oku-Tama area may be the one!
暑い日が続きます。ミントウォーターを飲んだり、涼を求めて出掛けてみたり。でもまだ暑い。
どこにしようか？ 涼しいだろう奥多摩にしよう!

There is a famous store that has へそ饅頭(pronounce as hee-so-man-ju). It's one of Japanese traditional sweets and was served for the political meeting at
日の出山荘 (pronounce as hinode-san-sow).
It was accomplished by Ronald W Reagan (was the 40th President of the United States ) and Yasuhiro Nakasone (is former Prime Minister of Japan.) One of the historical meeting in those days.
ここにはへそ饅頭で有名なお店があります。日本の伝統的なお菓子(饅頭)で、日の出山荘で行われた政治会合でも供された物なのです。
その会合とは、故レーガン第40代米国大統領と中曽根康弘元首相の歴史的会談でした。

Anyway I got some hot fresh ones to take back home.

It's been so hot in Tokyo still.
出来たての熱々饅頭をお持ち帰りしましたよ。

それにしても東京は暑いなぁ。

Splash Terry 2011

Yes. It's time for swimming!
As many of you know that Terry loves to go swimming. Here are the first pictures of this season.
今年もやって来ました、水泳の季節です!
多くの方がご存じのようにテリー君は水泳が大好きです。それでは今シーズンの画像を公開です。
By the time we were going back home,we let him get into the car but he struggled against it. He wanted to stay there still. I knew he was exhausted so he should leave there before he would get worse.
そして帰途につこうとテリー君を車に乗せようとした時、激しく抵抗しました。まだ泳いでいたかったようです。でも、(足もふらついて)かなり疲れてきているのが分かっていましたから、ひどくなる前に切り上げることにしたのです。

That night he swam again in his dream. How come we could know?
From his action while he was sleeping, it surely was actions of swimming!  I bet he enjoyed his splashing day.
その夜、夢の中で再び泳いでいるテリー君を発見です。どうして判ったかって？だって寝ている時の、テリー君の動きが水泳の動作そのものでした!　もう、間違いなく楽しんだ証拠でしょう。

Terry's Banana

As you know, Terry loves to eat.
But lately he can't have most kind of meat because of his allergy problem.
Now he has special food from his vet.
Terry the dog can't have any meat?! Poor boy. I should change his nick name from "Poochy Dog" into "Kitty Dog "
ご存じのように、テリー君は「食が命」です。でも最近アレルギー問題があって殆どの種類のお肉が食べられません。今は獣医さんで購入した特別食を食べています。
テリー君、犬なのにお肉が食べられないなんて?! 可哀相なテリー君。 　
「ワン吉」から「ニャン吉」にあだ名を変更しなくっちゃ。

According to the vet, it will take a while though, after Terry's body could be detoxed he will have exams again and hopefully he will have some kinds of meat again.

I do hope he can have his favorite ones again.
Until then he has this banana that is totally safe for his allergy.
獣医さんによれば、暫くかかりますが、テリー君の身体から毒素が抜けてから再びテストをして、また何種類かのお肉が食べられるようになるだろうと言うことでした。大好きな物が、また食べられるようになると良いと願っています。
それまではアレルギーに対し安全なこのバナナを。

だってゴム製のオモチャですもん。オモチャも大好きですからね。

Shop "Italiano" till I drop!?

I did a big shopping the other day. I was thinking of these ones for a long while though, they costed a lot. So I have planed to save enough budget before I would act on.
About a week ago, I went to the store for my other business. Then I just had a look of them for my curiosity. To my surprise, they gave us a big bargain, marked down the ones as 40% off. What a big deal! So I decided to buy 3 of them that I have wanted for.What I got were Lagostina (official site in English).
I found one of them at a web store also.
先日大きな買い物をしました。ずっと考えていたものなのですが、お値段がとても高いので、十分な予算が貯まるまでは思っていたのです。
約1週間ほど前のことでした。別の用事でその店に行き、チョットした好奇心で売り場をのぞきました。驚いたことに凄いバーゲンセールを開催していまして、欲しかった物が何と40％割引になっていました。これは買うしかない!!ずっと欲しかった3品を購入する事にしました。それはラゴスティーナ。
英語版のウェブストアーでも見つけましたが、このシリーズは日本のサイトでは殆ど見かけなかったです。

Now I have many of great tools. Then what about my cooking skills??
Oh well..... I may study about Italian cuisine from now on.
道具は立派なのが揃いましたけど、料理の腕前は??
まあ、それはその・・・・これからイタリア料理勉を強しましょうかね。(笑)

Need a break

I need a break. Since it's been so busy, I really need to have some break. So I'm having sweets and iced coffee.
何しろ超忙しくて、休憩が必要ですからケーキとアイスコーヒーで只今休息中です。

Lily Garden

I have visited a lily garden (Japanese language only) in Tokorozawa. According to the leaflet, there are 50 different kinds, over 450,000 lilies in total though. I could not recognize them except its colors.

所沢にあるゆり園に行ってきました。パンフレットによれば50種類、45万株のユリが生息しているそうです。私は、色で見分ける以外は全然違いが分かりませんでしたけどね。

Anyway, let's have a look of those pretty flowers. They have a photo contest also. Do you want to enter the competition?

To get through it, you will see lily field and it smells very sweet.

そこを抜けるとユリの原野が広がり、甘い香りがしてきます。

Along the path way, lots of "beauties" say "Hello" to me. Aren't they lovely?

小道で沢山の「美女達」がご挨拶してくれます。素敵でしょ？

They have special dish, tempra of lily bulb. I tried it, of course. It tasted slightly sweet. Feel like having potatoes.
ここ限定というユリ根の天ぷらを食べました。ほんのり甘くて、ジャガイモみたいな食感があります。

I could relax myself on that day with those "beauties."

「美女達」と共にリラックスできた一日でした。

Tokyo Sky Tree, a new landmark

I had a lunch at a restaurant the other day and recognized that I could see the new tower named "Tokyo Sky Tree" from there. I think it's 50 kilometers away from the restaurant at least.
先日昼食を食べたレストランからスカイツリーが見える事に気付きました。多分そこから少なくとも50㎞以上離れているはずです。

Too bad, it was not such fine clear day. If it would be fine day I can get much better view though.
この日は残念ながら晴天ではありませんでした。天気が良ければもっとハッキリ見えるのですけどね。

New Pasta Pot

I purchased a new pasta pot lately. It's so shiny and reflects the things that I don't want to show off.
Before I made the decision, I have compared with other kind. The photo below is the one that is from its official site. It seemed so nice and I still want to have it. May be some day.
先日パスタポットを買いました。鏡のようにピカピカで（室内の）見せたくないものまで映ってしまっていますけどね。
これに決める前に比較したのが下の物です。写真はメーカーのオフィシャルサイトからです。とても素敵で、いつかこれも買えたらと思っています。

Anyway, it comes with a colander that can hold pasta or noodles.
今回購入したポットには、パスタなど麺類用にザル状の内鍋が付いています。

The best part of the pot is;  NOT boil over at all.
そしてこのポットの凄いところは、噴きこぼれないことなんです。

So I cooked spaghetti. The pasta holder is also great. I haven't had this kind so I now really like them all.
早速スパゲッティを茹でてみました。パスタホルダーも使い勝手が良く、重宝しています。このような道具を持っていなかったので、とても気に入りました。

I cooked the pasta sauce while I was boiling water.

Now it's time to EAT!!

お湯を沸かしている合い間にパスタソースも作りました。

それでは「いただきま～す!!」

An Inspiration bursts on Ji-chan?

My friend sent me such nice gift the other day. I would have it with something good so I have saved it for a while.
It is instant Japanese style soup. They are simple and easy but very tasty.
Just pour hot boiling water and it's ready.
先日お友達からこんなプレゼントを頂きました。折角だから美味しいものと一緒に頂こうと思ってとっておきました。
熱いお湯を注ぐだけで出来る、 インスタントの和風汁ですが簡単でとても美味しかったです。

I had this soup with Bento. And the story of getting Bento is something amazing.

このお汁をお弁当と一緒に頂きましたが、その経緯が驚きなのです。 

It was a morning of June 1.
Ji-chan suddenly mentioned about his dream of last night. According to him, he won a lottery with a big amount of cash. The key number is 4 and I suggested him the number. Well, I didn't know it at all though. Since it's his dream.

him that II told  will get the ticket on the way back home in the afternoon. I was off to work at that time.

それは６月１日の朝でした。

爺ちゃんが突然、昨夜見た夢の事を話し始めました。何でも宝くじで大金を当てたのだとか。鍵となる番号は４で、それを私が勧めたのだそうな。私には全く覚えがありませんけどね。ま、彼の夢の中ですから。

そこで、午後、帰り道でくじを買ってくるからと話しました。ちょうど仕事に出ようとしていた時だったものですから。

At the ticket booth, I picked up the forth ticket (scratch one) and took it home.
I showed it to Ji-chan and revealed it. Then I found that we won the forth prize of 5,000 yen!!

Oh well, he said "a big amount". What about this part? I thought... then I realized a fact.

To reach 50,000,000 yen, we need FOUR more zeros!!
Ah, this is the life....boo,hoo,hoo....
くじ売り場で(インスタント)の４番目を買い帰宅しました。
爺ちゃんにそれを見せてくじを削ると、４等で5,000円の当選でした!!

でも確か、大金って言ってなかったかな？考えているうちにある事実に気付きました。

50,000,000円には0が4つ足りないんです!!

あ～、これが現実ですね。トホホ・・

Anyway, it's better than nothing. He wanted to have something delicious. So I got his favorite Bento for us. I forgot to take the photo so I use the one from its official site.

それでも何もないよりはマシ。爺ちゃんは何か美味しいものを食べたいというので大好きなお弁当を買うことにしました。写真を撮り忘れてしまったので、このお店のオフィシャルサイトから写真を借用しました。

Now I am expecting Ji-chan to have another inspiration.
爺ちゃんにまた霊感が宿るといいのですけれどね。

Purchased a Chopper!

I've purchased a new "chopper" lately.
Not a helicopter, however, it looks like the one!
新しいチョッパー(英語でヘリの意味もある)を買いました。
ヘリコプターじゃありませんけれど、似ていますね!

So I cooked some with my new tool. It works great and I like it a lot.
It can chop onion and carrots into small pieces in a second! So fast.
新しい道具で早速調理してみました。タマネギと人参が数秒でみじん切りになりました。本当に「早い～!」
とても気に入りました。

I've got more amount than I've planed so I have had two different dishes.

思った量より多く出来てしまったので２品作りました。

They are stuffed cabbage and meatball soup. Oh well, I was going to cook  Ratatouille though....

ロールキャベツ(チョット不格好だけど)とミートボールスープ。本当はラタトゥイユを作るつもりだったのですけどね・・・

Darjeeling First Flash Tea

As I have had my breakfast at a restaurant one weekend, I saw the sign of "Darjeeling First Flash." I didn't know anything about English tea before. Then I've learned a little bit from a lady who has English tea lessons on her blog(Japanese language only) articles. So I'm very curious and decided to try the tea.
週末に朝食を食べに行ったファミレスで、「ダージリンファーストフラッシュ」なる看板を見かけました。以前は紅茶のことなど全く知りませんでしたけど、紅茶教室を開いていらっしゃる方のブログ記事からそのことを知り、とても興味があったので早速試してみました。

I was surprised that the leaves have green colors. In my idea, it should be brown color though. It seemed like Japanese green tea to me.
とても驚いたのは、茶葉が緑色だったことです。紅茶は茶色だと思っていましたから。私には日本茶のように見えました。

Well, the taste is.... just English tea!
それでお味は・・・やっぱり紅茶でした！
