Terry the Dog That Has To Be Forever Happy

It was winter 2006.
Before I had returned from USA, Terry was already in part of our family.
At first, Jichan mentioned like this;
"Don't let the dog hang around downstairs. Just keep IT upstairs only."

He sounded to deny dogs... well, didn't seem to be.
Very soon Terry started hanging around the downstairs. When Terry stepped on Jichan's face and ran for the next room, Jichan didn't get mad at all.
By the time we took Terry for walk and said,
"We're going out, Jichan."
He replied,
"Oh, you're going Terry. Hope you can see your girlfriends."

People say that Terry is a happy dog since we all care him.
Yes. He has to be a happy dog forever.

It arose from Jichan's mumbling.
According to him, his family was wealthy and had a dog when he was a little boy. But after the Great Depression, their family business was bankrupted and they had to live hand to mouth.
They still kept the dog some how. After all, there was nothing they could do any more. Jichan's father decided to renounce the dog.
The circumstance was nearly 90 years ago. Little boy Jichan was not able to resist his father's decision. The dog had sent far away.

"It was taken away by the (tram) train. The dog seemed bewildered and didn't understand what was going on. I wonder what had happened on the dog after all...."
Jichan showed a sad profile so I could not find any words to say.

He continued,
"If you would keep a dog, you should responsible for the rest of its life. Otherwise you can't keep dogs."

At that moment, I surely understood why Jichan hesitated to touch dogs. His sad experience in bygone days made him so.

That night I told whole story to Terry Mama. Both she and I could not stop shedding.
Then we made our decision. Terry is the dog that has to be forever happy.

Terry's happiness would make up for Jichan's sad old dog.

Terry frisks around Jichan innocently.
Jichan replied with a smile,
"Every day you have different outfits. You are such happy guy."

Although he had past away, I do beleive that Terry's existance made Jichan felt better.

Hey Terry.
Just remind one thing.
You are the one who has to be happy for the rest of your life.
Do you understand?

Errrr... What?

Sensoji Temple Asakusa

I just stopped by Sensoji Temple Asakusa. It's been a long while since I've visited last time.

It was fine clear day and I could see Tokyo Skytree so close.

I wanted to take a photo of Kaminarimon Gate but I didn't have much time then. I'll try next time.

There is a new spot named "Marugoto Nippon" near by the temple. There are lots of shops inside. I didn't care them. It was incredible hot outside so I just stayed inside to get some cool air...

I'll come again soon.

Omelette of Takano Fruits Bar

I had a lunch at Takano fruits bar. They have all you can eat and drink buffet there.
This place is known as its high quality fruit. Also their "fresh cooked"omelette is great.
They have 3 kinds, cheese omelette, stir-fried rice filling omelette and plane. I chose plane one with demiglace sauce.

I enjoyed all kinds of fruits and food, of course. But....
Because of that, I was too busy to take other photos...

Full Moon on September 15

It was full moon on September 15.
But I could not see the moon in my area.

So I had our traditional food, Tukimi-dango (rice cake dumplings) instead of moon watching.
I hope I can see another full moon in November.

Terry the Lonely

Last year, Terry Mama had been hospitalized for a while. During that Terry seemed so sad.

After Terry Mama has returned, he may feel comfortable. So he goes like this....

A Lunch Meeting

I had lunch meeting with my friend. I forgot to take photos of our lunch so I use something similar.

And this is the sweets I have had.

My friend kindly gave me this flower pot. It's for my retirement. So neat!

Art Aquarium in Nihon-bashi

I went to see "Art aquarium" in Nihon-bashi. This is the one I wanted to see for a long time.
At last I could make it!
There are many size of bowls that have various kinds of goldfish.

Some bigger fish in lotus shaped top and little red fish in the bottom tank. The color is changing time to time by the lights.

See the tanks below. They are the same one but its color changes frequently.

This must be very interesting kind for sake lovers.

It's just a regular kind of tank but I think the display is so neat.

This folding screen is amazing. It shows many scene and colors.

Of course there are live fish inside.

Let's see various kinds of fish tanks and their colors.

Then I faced an accident....
They found a dead fish and was trying to scoop.

RIP Goldfish....

While I was moving around, it became big crowds.

After the exhibition, I had goldfish jello. You can choose either black or red fish.
I picked red one.

It was a fun time.
